Open Cup of Ukraine

From August 20 to 23, Feodosia will host the “Open Cup of Ukraine” in the Ukrainian national mixed martial art — “Kozatskyi Dvoboi”. In addition to Ukrainian teams, the competition will feature teams from Russia, Azerbaijan, Armenia, and other countries. The World Cossack Fight Federation (WCFF) proposes to hold training camps at the “Kafa” sports base from August 15 to 25, 2013. Within the framework of the training camp, seminars and certification sessions will also be held for coaches, instructors, and referees of the official sport of Ukraine “Kozatskyi Dvoboi”. All representatives from regions, coaches, and referees who complete the seminar and certification will receive international certificates confirming coach or referee category status.

We present to your attention the regulations of the competition:

1. Goals and objectives.
• Development and popularization of the Ukrainian national martial art, the sport of “Kozatskyi Dvoboi” and MMA worldwide;
• Promotion of a healthy lifestyle under the slogan “Children of the planet — A world without drugs”;
• Improving the skill level of athletes;
• Developing and strengthening friendly ties between sports organizations of all countries of the world;

2. Dates and venue.
The competition is held from August 20 to 23, 2013, in the city of Feodosia (Ukraine, AR Crimea).
August 20 — day of arrival, registration and weigh-in of athletes from 12:00 to 18:00 at: Simferopolskoye Highway, 27.
Referees’ seminar.
Meeting of representatives and draw.
August 21
09:00 — qualifying bouts;
12:00 — official opening, continuation of qualifying bouts;
August 22
09:00 — semifinal bouts in all sections, finals, awards ceremony.
August 23 — departure of teams.

3. Competition leadership.
General leadership of the competition is assumed by the World Cossack Fight Federation (WCFF) and the MMA Federation of Ukraine. Direct organization of the tournament is entrusted to the chief refereeing panel and the competition organizing committee.

4. Rules of the competition and refereeing panel.
The competition is held in accordance with the current international rules of “Kozatskyi Dvoboi” (WCFF). The refereeing panel is formed from referees recommended by the participating teams. All referees are required to attend the seminar on August 20, and based on its results they will be admitted to work at the competition.

5. Competition program and participants.
Teams of regions, cities, and clubs from CIS countries and the world are admitted to the competition.
The competition is held in the following sections:
“Zabava” — measured contact with stop (analogous to semi-contact);
“Bornya 2” — measured contact (kick-light) without stop, low kicks and clinch throws allowed;
“Herts 2” — full contact, low kicks, knee strikes, clinch throws allowed (shoot-fighting, K-1);
“Herts 3” — (MMA);
“Odnotan” — solo compositions;
“Tan dvoboi” — self-defense.

6. Financing of the competition.
All expenses related to holding the competition are covered by the organizers and charitable starting fees (starting fee 100 UAH).
Expenses related to travel, accommodation, and meals for participants, coaches, and referees are borne by the sending organizations.

7. Awarding participants.
Athletes taking 1st place are awarded diplomas and medals. Athletes taking 2nd place — diplomas and medals; 3rd place — diplomas and medals.
The best athletes of the competition will be awarded valuable prizes.
The winning team is awarded a cup.

8. Applications.
Participants of the competition must have with them an identification document, a fighter’s passport, an insurance policy, and personalized applications signed by a sports medicine doctor and stamped, which are submitted to the credentials committee on the day of arrival.

This regulation is an official invitation.
Preliminary applications must be submitted by August 10, 2013.

The cost of attending the training camp and seminar sessions is 1600 UAH for 10 days (includes accommodation and 4 meals a day). Preliminary applications should be sent to vladibor_@rambler.ru.
