for the Open Championship of Kryvyi Rih City

among adults, youth, seniors, juniors and children in Cossack fight

disciplines (Bornya-2, Bornya-3, Hertz-2, Hertz-3)

  1. 1. Objectives and Goals

Competitions are classified as individual-team events and are conducted with the purpose of:

1.1. Promoting and advancing Cossack fight in the city, Dnipropetrovsk region and Ukraine, and engaging the population in active sports activities.

1.2. Identifying the strongest athletes for the team roster.

1.3. Fostering patriotism and improving athletes’ competitive skills.

2. Date and Venue

The Open Championship of Kryvyi Rih City in Cossack fight is held on November 19, 2016 in Kryvyi Rih at Vatutin Street 57.

November 19 – athlete registration day from 09:00 to 10:00 at: Kryvyi Rih, Vatutin Street 57. KPNZ MPDIUT “Horotsvet”, SP “Danko”

Referee seminar – from 10:00 to 10:30;

team representatives’ meeting and drawing of lots – from 10:30 to 11:00;

11:00 – ceremonial opening, competitions start, preliminary bouts; final bouts in disciplines Bornya-2, Bornya-3 (MMA), Hertz-2, Hertz-3 (MMA)

3. Supervision of Competitions

3.1. Overall supervision of organization and conduct of competitions is carried out by the Dnipropetrovsk Regional Sports Federation “Cossack Fight” – a separate division of the NGO “Ukrainian Sports Federation ‘Cossack Fight’”, the Department of Youth and Sports of the Dnipropetrovsk Regional Administration

3.2. Direct conduct of competitions is assigned to the referee board (Chief Referee – Tymchenko K.S.) and the organizational committee (Smahliі I.V.).

4. Participants

4.1. Competitions are open to members of club teams, sports schools, sports training facilities of Dnipropetrovsk region, regions of Ukraine, the Autonomous Republic of Crimea, and the cities of Kyiv and Sevastopol.

4.2. Competitions are held in the following weight categories and disciplines:

Bornya-2 (hand-to-hand combat with light contact primary, similar to kick-light with low kicks, throws and holds)

Bornya-3 (hand-to-hand combat with full contact freestyle, similar to MMA, mixed fight)

Hertz-2 (hand-to-hand combat with full contact primary, similar to K-1);

Hertz-3 (hand-to-hand combat with full contact freestyle, similar to MMA, mixed fight),

Hertz-3 (MMA)

Age categories are assigned according to the athlete’s full years as of the competition date

4.3. Athletes admitted to competition must be systematically training in sports clubs (sports schools) and possess appropriate preparation. Coaches and team representatives are responsible for the level of athletic preparation of participants.

4.4. Attire for conducting bouts in accordance with the Rules of competition.

5. Awards for Participants.

Winners are awarded medals and diplomas.

6. Applications.

Applications in the established form – Appendix No. 1, approved by a sports medicine physician, must be submitted to the credentials committee on the day of arrival. Each participant must have an insurance policy.

7. Sports Equipment of Participants.

Attire – athletic wear of participants must correspond to traditional Cossack Fight attire or one of the most well-known directions of martial arts (karate, kickboxing, taekwondo, kung fu, etc.). Sports equipment and protective gear – mouthguard, groin protector in a support garment, wraps, hand wraps (10 oz), for the Hertz-2 discipline open-hand gloves for mixed martial arts (6 oz), footgear, shin and head protection, for women and girls chest protection.

8.Safety During Competition, Organizational Matters

8.1. Safety and preparation of facilities is carried out in accordance with the Resolution of the CMU from 18.12.1998 No. 2025 “On the procedure for preparing sports facilities and other specially designated places for holding mass sporting and cultural events”:

8.2. Preparation of sports facilities is the responsibility of their owners.

8.3. Control over the preparation of sports facilities and ensuring safety of competitions is conducted by a working commission established by the respective regional (city) administrations.

8.4. The owner of a sports facility must submit to the working commission an act of readiness for the competition no later than 4 hours before the start of competition.

8.5. Non-compliance with the requirements of this clause, which became the cause of emergency circumstances during the competition, entails responsibility in accordance with the legislation of Ukraine.

9. Medical Support

In accordance with the “Regulations on Medical Support for Sporting and Mass Events” approved by the order of the Ministry of Health of Ukraine from 27.10.2008 No. 614, medical support for sporting and mass events is provided by the Ukrainian Center for Sports Medicine, regional and city sports dispensaries, centers regardless of their departmental subordination, departments of sports medicine of general healthcare facilities. Qualified medical personnel are involved in providing medical support for the competition. The presence of a sports medicine physician is mandatory at all levels of competition.

The competition physician is part of the referee board as the deputy chief referee. All his decisions within his competence are mandatory for participants, referees, and competition organizers. The physician presents a medical support plan for the competition to the organizational committee or referee board and a report after the competition concludes.
