“COSSACK VALOR”

(trials for the World Cup, Bulgaria)

1. Goals and Objectives.

The All-Ukrainian Championship in Cossack Combat “COSSACK VALOR” is held with the aim of:

– promoting and furthering the development of the sport “Cossack Combat” in Ukraine;

– improving the level of athletes and referees;

– continuing to improve training and sports work in youth sports schools, specialized youth sports schools, sports clubs, and sections in local communities;

– selection of promising athletes for forming the national team of Ukraine in Cossack Combat to participate in the World Cup (Bulgaria);

– achievement of sports ranks in Cossack Combat in accordance with the unified sports classification of Ukraine;

2. Date, Venue, and Competition Program

The All-Ukrainian Championship in Cossack Combat “COSSACK VALOR”

is held according to the rules of the World Cossack Fight Federation (WCFF)

May 17– athlete registration from 16:00 to 20:00 at the address: Kyiv, Verkhnoklyuchova Street, 1/26

Referees’ seminar from 18:00 to 19:00; representatives’ meeting and draw from 18:00 to 19:00;

May 18 (Kyiv, Verkhnoklyuchova Street, 1/26)

10:00 opening ceremony, start of competitions, preliminary bouts;

20:00final bouts in “Hertz-3” (MMA).

3. Organization and Management of Competition

The All-Ukrainian Championship in Cossack Combat “COSSACK VALOR” is held by: the World Cossack Fight Federation (hereinafter – WCFF) and the NGO “Ukrainian Sports Federation “Cossack Combat”. Direct conduct of the championship is entrusted to the WCFF and the main referees’ board approved by the WCFF Presidency.

4. Preparation of Sports Facilities

In accordance with the Resolution of the Cabinet of Ministers of Ukraine No. 2025 of December 18, 1998 “On the procedure for preparation of sports facilities and other specially designated places for holding mass sporting and cultural entertainment events”:

¨ preparation of sports facilities is the responsibility of their owners;

¨ control over the preparation of sports facilities and safety of competition is carried out by a working commission formed by the appropriate regional administration.

The owner of a sports facility must submit a report to the working commission at least 4 hours before the start of competition confirming the facility’s readiness to hold the championship.

Non-compliance with the requirements set out in this section that have led to extraordinary circumstances during the competition shall entail liability.

5. Competition Participants

The All-Ukrainian Championship in Cossack Combat “COSSACK VALOR” admits athletes from regional teams of Ukraine formed based on the results of preliminary regional competitions, based on previously submitted applications by May 15, 2014, to the address of the WCFF (vladibor_@rambler.ru).

5.2. Each team with more than 10 athletes must have at least one referee at the expense of the sending organization.

5.3. All referees must have accident insurance and medical certification.

5.4. Competitions are held in accordance with the current international rules of Cossack Combat competitions approved by the Federation and the Ministry.

5.5. All participants must have: passport, accident insurance, and Master of Sport, Candidate Master of Sport, and Master of Sports of Ukraine must have certificates;

5.6. Competitions are held in the following age groups, weight categories, and divisions:

Onetan(free and formal technical complexes);

Tan-dvoboy(technical bouts, demonstration of self-defense techniques, self-defense);

Zabava-1(hand-to-hand with controlled touch limited, analogous to semi-contact);

Bornya-1(hand-to-hand with light touch limited, analogous to light-contact);

Bornya-2 (hand-to-hand with light touch main, analogous to kick-light with low kick and throws)

Hertz-1 (hand-to-hand with full contact main, full-contact);

Hertz-2 (hand-to-hand with full contact main, analogous to K-1 with throws);

Hertz-3 (hand-to-hand with full contact free, analogous to MMA, mixed martial arts), adults only (men and women).

6. Financial Terms of Competition

Partial costs for organizing and holding the championship are provided from charitable funds and other extra-budgetary sources attracted by the Federation, as well as charitable contributions.

No participation fee required.

7. Awards

Athletes who placed:

1st place – are awarded medals and corresponding diplomas.

2nd – 3rd place – are awarded medals and corresponding diplomas.

All winners among adults, as well as the best athletes among juniors and youth will be awarded with passes to the World Cup in Cossack Combat and MMA (Bulgaria, Varna, June 20-30)

8. Sports Attire and Equipment

Uniform – the sports attire of participants must correspond to the traditional uniform of Cossack Combat or one of the most well-known martial arts styles (karate, kickboxing, taekwondo, kung fu, etc.).

Sports equipment and protective gear – mouthguard, groin protector with supporter, hand wraps, boxing gloves (10 oz), for Hertz and Bornya-2 divisions open gloves for mixed martial arts (6 oz “maxmix”), shin guards, shin and head protection, for women and girls chest protection.

9. Applications

Preliminary applications for team participation in the championship must be submitted by May 15 2014 to the email vladibor_@rambler.ru

  • Each team representative must submit to the credentials commission a named list of athletes participating in the championship in the established format, completed in all sections, certified by the structural divisions of regional departments of physical culture and sports.
  • Named lists must be certified by a doctor of the sports medicine clinic and the sending organization.

Passports, sports classification books of athletes, and accident insurance must be submitted to the championship credentials commission on the day of arrival.
