Ukrainian athlete Nikolay Ivkov became the silver medalist of the Open Asia Cup in MMA, which took place on February 20–22 in Iran.
Nikolay confidently won all three preliminary bouts and only in the final, winning on points, fell victim to a submission hold.
The leadership of the Ukrainian MMA Federation and the Ukrainian sports federation “Kozatskyi Dvobiy” congratulate Nikolay on the silver medal at this prestigious international MMA forum.
It should be noted that the tournament brought together 160 competitors from 20 countries. The Cup was organized by the World MMA Federation (WMMAF); the federation leadership noted the high level of organization and most likely in the following year, 2015, this tournament will have the status of the MMA World Cup. This year, the World MMA Federation and the World WCFF Federation invite all mixed martial arts enthusiasts to participate in the World Cup, which will be held in Feodosia on June 19–23, 2014.
