Ukraine Championship in Kozatskyi Dvoboi (adults, juniors, youth, children)
“In Memory of Heroes Fallen in the Russian-Ukrainian War”
Venue: Lutsk, Ukraine.
14 – 17 March 2025
1. Aims and objectives
The Ukraine Championship in Kozatskyi Dvoboi (adults, juniors, youth, children) “In Memory of Heroes Fallen in the Russian-Ukrainian War” is held with the purpose of:
- broad involvement of the population in physical culture and sports;
- military-patriotic and sports education of youth;
- further development of the sport and its popularization in the country;
- raising the level of mastery of athletes;
- selection of stronger athletes for the Ukrainian national team to participate in international competitions;
- activation of educational and training work in sports organizations;
- summarizing the work in sports organizations.
2. Dates and venue of the competition
The Ukraine Championship in Kozatskyi Dvoboi (adults, juniors, youth, children) “In Memory of Heroes Fallen in the Russian-Ukrainian War” will be held from March 14 to 17, 2025 at the Sports Complex “Dynamo”, at the address: Lutsk, Danyla Halytskoho Street 33,
3. Organization and management of the competition
The management of the organization and conduct of the competition is carried out by the Ministry of Youth and Sports and the Ukrainian Sports Federation “Kozatskyi Dvoboi” (hereinafter – the Federation).
Responsibility for the preparation and direct conduct of the competition lies with the Department of Youth and Sports of the Volyn Regional State Administration and the referee panel formed by the Federation, the composition of which is approved by the Ministry of Youth and Sports.
4. Participants of the competition
National teams of the Autonomous Republic of Crimea, regions, cities of Kyiv and Sevastopol are allowed to participate in the Ukraine Championship.
Team composition: unlimited.
Age categories of participants:
adults (men or women) – 19 years and older;
juniors – 16–18 years;
youth – 13–15 years;
youth – 10–12 years;
children – 7–9 years.
Level of admission to the competition (by classification):
adults – not lower than 1st rank;
juniors – not lower than 1st rank;
youth – not lower than 1st junior rank.
5. Nature of the event
The competition is individual-team, held in accordance with the Rules.
6. Competition program
The Ukraine Championship in Kozatskyi Dvoboi (adults, juniors, youth, children) “In Memory of Heroes Fallen in the Russian-Ukrainian War” will be held from March 14 to 17, 2025 at the Sports Complex “Dynamo”, at the address: Lutsk, Danyla Halytskoho Street 33,
Competition program:
March 14 – day of arrival of teams and registration of participants at: Sports Complex “Dynamo”, Danyla Halytskoho Street 33, Lutsk.
14:00 – 18:00 – team registration, weigh-in of participants, referee registration;
18:00 – 19:00 – meeting of the mandate and medical commission;
19:00 – 20:00 – meeting of the Referee Panel, referee seminar;
20:00 – 21:00 – official draw of participants.
March 15 – competition day: address: Sports Complex “Dynamo”, Danyla Halytskoho Street 33, Lutsk.
07:00 – 08:30 – departure of teams from hotels to the venue;
08:30 – 09:00 – arrangement of sports grounds, equipment setup and referee meeting;
09:00 – national minute of silence for compatriots killed as a result of armed aggression of the Russian Federation against Ukraine, beginning of competition;
09:00 – 13:00 – preliminary bouts in the “Dvoboi” sections;
13:00 – official opening of the competition;
13:30 – 16:00 – continuation of preliminary bouts, semifinal bouts, and final bouts in all sections.
16:00 – 21:00 – final bouts in all sections, awarding the winners of the competition;
March 16 – competition day: address: Sports Complex “Dynamo”, Danyla Halytskoho Street 33, Lutsk.
07:00 – 08:30 – departure of teams from hotels to the venue;
08:30 – 09:00 – arrangement of sports grounds, equipment setup and referee meeting;
09:00 – national minute of silence for compatriots killed as a result of armed aggression of the Russian Federation against Ukraine, beginning of competition;
09:00 – 21:00 – continuation of preliminary bouts, semifinal bouts, and final bouts in all sections
March 17 – summarizing of the competition results, departure of teams.
The Kozatskyi Dvoboi competition program includes the following types of competitions, held in the corresponding age and weight categories, in particular:
Odnotan (free and formal technical forms);
Tan dvoboi (technical bouts, demonstration of self-defense techniques, selfdefense);
Zabava-1 (hand-to-hand combat with dosed contact, limited, analogue of semi-contact);
Bornya-1 (hand-to-hand combat with light contact, limited, analogue of light-contact);
Bornya-2 (hand-to-hand combat with light contact, main, analogue of kick-light with low-kick and throws);
Bornya-3 (hand-to-hand combat with light contact, free, analogue of MMA Light);
Bornya (analogue of grappling);
Herts-1 (hand-to-hand combat with real contact, main, full-contact);
Herts-2 (hand-to-hand combat with real contact, main, analogue of K-1 with throws);
Herts-3 (hand-to-hand combat with real contact, free, MMA).
Weight categories for sections “Zabava”, “Bornya”, “Bornya” (men): Veterans 41-55: -65, -75, -85, +85. Adults 19-40: -50, -55, -60, -65, -70, -75, -80, -85, +85. Juniors 16-18: -40, -45, -50, -55, -60, -65, -70, -75, +75. Older youth 13-15: -35, -40, -45, -50, -55, -60, +65. Younger youth 10-12: -25, -30, -35, -40, -45, -50, +50. Children 7-9: -25, -30, -35, -40, +45.
Weight categories for sections “Zabava”, “Bornya”, “Bornya” (women): Veterans 41-50: -65, -75, -85, +85. Adults 19-40: -45, -50, -55, -60, -65, +65. Juniors 16-18: -40, -45, -50, -55, -60, +60. Older youth 13-15: -35, -40, -45, -50, -55, -60, +60. Younger youth 10-12: -22, -25, -30, -35, -40, -45, +45. Children 7-9: -22, -25, -30, -35, -40, +40.
Weight categories for sections “Herts-1” and “Herts-2” (men): Adults 19-40: -50, -55, -60, -65, -70, -75, -80, -85, -90, +90. Juniors 16-18: -45, -50, -55, -60, -65, -70, -75, -85, +85. (women): Adults 19-40: -50, -55, -60, -65, -70, -75, -80, -85, -90, +90. Juniors 16-18: -40, -45, -50, -55, -60, -65, -70, -75, +75.
Weight categories for section “Herts-3” (men, adults 19-40): -56, -60, -65.8, -70.3, -77.1, -84, -93, +93. (women, adults 19-40): -50, -55, -61, -68, -76, +76.
Odnotan and Tan dvoboi – according to age groups.
Ribbons, stick pull
Age 0-5 mixed (M&W): -90 cm, -110 cm, -130 cm, +130 cm. Age 6-8 mixed (M&W): -100 cm, -120 cm, -140 cm, +140 cm. Age 9-12 mixed (M&W): -110 cm, -130 cm, -150 cm, +150 cm.
7. Safety and preparation of competition venues
The preparation of competition venues is carried out in accordance with the resolution of the Cabinet of Ministers of Ukraine of December 18, 1998 No. 2025.
8. Sports uniform and equipment.
Uniform for Kozatskyi Dvoboi – the sports uniform of participants must correspond to the traditional form of Kozatskyi Dvoboi:
- sections “Zabava”, “Bornya-1”, “Herts-1” – sharovary, vyshyvanka or club T-shirt (in “Herts-1” section, men’s torso bare).
- sections “Bornya-2”, “Bornya-3”, “Herts-2”, “Herts-3” MMA shorts, rashguard or T-shirt (in “Herts-2”, “Herts-3” section, men’s torso bare).
Sports equipment and protective gear:
- sections “Zabava”, “Bornya-1”, “Herts-1” – mouthguard, groin protector in bandage, hand wraps (“Herts-1” required, “Zabava”, “Bornya-1” optional), boxing gloves (under 9 years – 8 oz, older – 10 oz), foot protectors required with closed heel, shin guard and helmet, for women and girls breast protector.
- Sections “Bornya-2”, “Bornya-3”, “Herts-2”, “Herts-3” – mouthguard, groin protector in bandage, hand wraps optional, open gloves for MMA of the brand “maXmix” licensed by WCFF – 6 oz, stockings with protection of the upper part of the foot and shin, helmet, for women and girls breast protector. In “Herts-3” section helmet is optional.
- Gloves and helmet according to corner color.
9. Conditions for determining championship and awarding winners and prize-winners
Athletes who took 1, 2, 3 places in individual standings at the Ukraine Championship are awarded medals and diplomas of the Federation of corresponding degrees.
Teams that took 1, 2, 3 places in team standings at the Ukraine Championship are awarded diplomas of the Federation of corresponding degrees.
Team championship is determined by the sum of points scored in the above-mentioned types of competitions in the corresponding weight category.
10. Conditions for financing the event and material support of participants
Expenses for the organization and conduct of the Ukraine Championship are carried out at the expense of extra-budgetary funds raised by the Federation.
Expenses for the secondment of participants to the competition: travel to and from the competition venue, daily allowance on the road, accommodation, meals, transportation of sports equipment and inventory to and from the competition venue, and other expenses are carried out at the expense of the sending organizations.
11. Deadlines and procedure for submitting applications for participation in the Ukraine Championship
Preliminary applications for team participation in the Ukraine Championship are sent no later than 10 days before the start of the competition to the Federation email addresses:

For participation in the competition, the following are submitted to the mandate commission on the day of arrival: named applications, certified by the seal and signature of the management of the structural units of the AR of Crimea, regions, cities of Kyiv and Sevastopol, and by a doctor of the medical-sports dispensary, a copy of the passport, classification books, insurance policies (valid for the duration of the competition), identification code.
Teams and participants who have confirmed their participation within the established period are allowed to compete.
