REGULATIONS

of the Ukrainian Championship in Kozatskyi Dvoboi (adults, juniors, youth, children)

“In Memory of the Heroes Fallen in the Russian-Ukrainian War”

Venue: Ukraine, Rivne region, village Kolodenka.

1. Goals and Objectives

The Ukrainian Championship in Kozatskyi Dvoboi (adults, juniors, youth, children) “In Memory of the Heroes Fallen in the Russian-Ukrainian War” is held with the aim of:

  • broadly engaging the population in physical culture and sports;
  • military-patriotic and sporting education of youth;
  • further development of the sport and its popularization in the state;
  • raising the skill level of athletes;
  • selecting the strongest athletes for the national team of Ukraine to participate in international competitions;
  • intensifying training work in sports organizations;
  • summing up the results of work in sports organizations.

2. Dates and Venue of the Competitions

The Ukrainian Championship in Kozatskyi Dvoboi (adults, juniors, youth, children) “In Memory of the Heroes Fallen in the Russian-Ukrainian War” is held from March 13 to 16, 2026.

3. Organization and Management of the Competitions

The organization and conduct of the competitions are managed by the Ministry of Youth and Sports and the Ukrainian Sports Federation “Kozatskyi Dvoboi” (hereinafter – the Federation).

Responsibility for the preparation and direct conduct of the competitions is assigned to the Department of Youth and Sports of the Rivne Regional State Administration and to the judging panel formed by the Federation, whose composition is approved by the Ministry of Youth and Sports.

4. Participants of the Competitions

National teams of the Autonomous Republic of Crimea, regions, and the cities of Kyiv and Sevastopol are eligible to participate in the Ukrainian Championship.

Team composition: unlimited.

Age categories of participants:

adults (men or women) – 18 years and older.

Juniors – 15-17 years;

Youth – 12-14 years;

Youth – 10-11 years.

Dress code of participants, according to the requirements of the Rules of Kozatskyi Dvoboi sports competitions (hereinafter – the Rules).

Level of admission to the competitions (by classification):

Adults – not lower than 1st rank;

Juniors – not lower than 1st rank;

Youth – not lower than 1st junior rank.

5. Nature of the Event

The competitions are individual-team, held in accordance with the Rules.

6. Competition Program

The Ukrainian Championship in Kozatskyi Dvoboi (adults, juniors, youth, children) “In Memory of the Heroes Fallen in the Russian-Ukrainian War” is held from March 13 to 16, 2026.

Competition program:

March 13 – day of arrival of teams and registration of participants

14:00 – 18:00 – registration of teams, weigh-in of participants, registration of judges;

18:00 – 19:00 – meeting of the credentials and medical commission;

19:00 – 20:00 – meeting of the Judging Panel, judges’ seminar;

20:00 – 21:00 – official drawing of lots for participants.

March 14 – competition day:

07:00 – 08:30 – departure of teams from hotels to the competition venue;

08:30 – 09:00 – setting up of sports areas, equipment adjustment, and judges’ meeting;

09:00 – nationwide minute of silence for compatriots who died as a result of the armed aggression of the Russian Federation against Ukraine, start of the competitions;

09:00 – 13:00 – preliminary rounds in the “dvoboi” sections;

13:00 – official opening of the competitions;

13:30 – 16:00 – continuation of preliminary rounds, semifinal Dvoboi matches, and final Dvoboi matches in all sections.

16:00 – 21:00 – final Dvoboi matches in all sections, awarding of competition winners;

March 15 – competition day:

07:00 – 08:30 – departure of teams from hotels to the competition venue;

08:30 – 09:00 – setting up of sports areas, equipment adjustment, and judges’ meeting;

09:00 – nationwide minute of silence for compatriots who died as a result of the armed aggression of the Russian Federation against Ukraine, start of the competitions;

09:00 – 21:00 – continuation of preliminary rounds, semifinal Dvoboi matches, and final Dvoboi matches in all sections

March 16 – summing up the results of the competitions, departure of teams.

The Kozatskyi Dvoboi competition program includes the following types of competitions, held in the corresponding age and weight categories, in particular:

Odnotan (freestyle and formal technical complexes);

Tan-dvoboi (technical bouts, demonstration of techniques, selfdefence);

Zabava-1 (hand-to-hand with measured touch, limited, analogue of semi-contact);

Bornya-1 (hand-to-hand with light touch, limited, analogue of light-contact);

Bornya-2 (hand-to-hand with light touch, main, analogue of kick-light with low kicks and throws);

Bornya-3 (hand-to-hand with light touch, free, analogue of MMA Light);

Wrestling (analogue of grappling);

Herts-1 (hand-to-hand with real touch, main, full-contact);

Herts-2 (hand-to-hand with real touch, main, analogue of K-1 with throws);

Herts-3 (hand-to-hand with real touch, free, MMA).

7. Safety and Preparation of Competition Venues

Preparation of competition venues is carried out in accordance with the Resolution of the Cabinet of Ministers of Ukraine of December 18, 1998 No. 2025 “On the Procedure for the Preparation of Sports Facilities and Other Specially Designated Places for Holding Mass Sports and Cultural-Entertainment Events”.

8. Sports Uniform and Equipment.

Kozatskyi Dvoboi uniform – the participants’ sports uniform must correspond to the traditional Kozatskyi Dvoboi uniform:

  • sections “Zabava”, “Bornya-1”, “Herts-1” – sharovary (Cossack trousers), vyshyvanka, or club T-shirt (in section “Herts-1” men have bare torso).
  • sections “Bornya-2”, “Bornya-3”, “Herts-2”, “Herts-3” – MMA shorts, rashguard or T-shirt (in sections “Herts-2”, “Herts-3” men have bare torso).

Sports equipment and gear:

  • sections “Zabava”, “Bornya-1”, “Herts-1” – mouthguard, groin cup in supporter, bandages (“Herts-1” mandatory, “Zabava”, “Bornya-1” optional), hand gloves (up to 9 years – 8 ounces, older – 10 ounces), foot pads mandatorily with closed heel, shin guards and helmet, for women and girls chest protection.
  • Sections “Bornya-2”, “Bornya-3”, “Herts-2”, “Herts-3” – mouthguard, groin cup in supporter, bandages optional, hand gloves – open, brand “maXmix” licensed by WCFF – 6 ounces, socks with protection of the upper foot and shin, helmet, for women and girls chest protection. In the “Herts-3” section the helmet is optional.
  • Gloves and helmet according to the corner color.

9. Conditions for Determining Standings and Awarding Winners and Prize-winners

Athletes who took 1st, 2nd, 3rd places in the individual standings at the Ukrainian Championship are awarded with medals and Federation diplomas of the corresponding degrees.

Teams that took 1st, 2nd, 3rd places in the team standings at the Ukrainian Championship are awarded with Cups and Federation diplomas of the corresponding degrees.

Team standings are determined by the sum of points scored in the above-listed types of competitions in the corresponding weight category.

10. Conditions of Financing the Event and Material Support of Participants

Expenses for the organization and conduct of the Ukrainian Championship are covered by extra-budgetary funds raised by the Federation.

Expenses for the travel of competition participants: travel to the competition venue and back, daily allowances en route, accommodation, meals, transportation of sports equipment and inventory to the competition venue and back, and other expenses are covered by the dispatching organizations.

11. Deadlines and Procedure for Submitting Applications for Participation in the Ukrainian Championship

Preliminary applications for team participation in the Ukrainian Championship are sent no later than 10 days before the start of the competitions to the Federation’s email addresses and on the relevant federation page on the website https://fitofan.com/o683675825:

For participation in the competitions, the following documents are submitted to the credentials commission on the day of arrival: nominal applications, certified by the seal and signature of the management of the structural units of the Autonomous Republic of Crimea, regions, the cities of Kyiv and Sevastopol, and by a doctor of the medical-sports dispensary, a copy of the passport, classification books, insurance policies (valid during the competitions), identification code.

Teams and participants that have confirmed their participation within the established deadline are admitted to the competitions.
