of the Ukraine Championship in Kozatskyi Biy (adults, juniors, youths, children)

«In Memory of the Heroes fallen in the Russian-Ukrainian war»

Venue: Ukraine, Rivne region, v. Kolodenka.

1. Goals and objectives

The Ukraine Championship in Kozatskyi Biy (adults, juniors, youths, children) «In Memory of the Heroes fallen in the Russian-Ukrainian war» is held with the goal of:

  • broad involvement of the population in physical culture and sports;
  • military-patriotic and sports education of youth;
  • further development of the sport and its popularization in the state;
  • raising the level of skill of athletes;
  • selection of the strongest athletes for the national team of Ukraine for participation in international competitions;
  • activation of training work in sports organizations;
  • summing up the results of work in sports organizations.

2. Dates and venue of the competition

The Ukraine Championship in Kozatskyi Biy (adults, juniors, youths, children) «In Memory of the Heroes fallen in the Russian-Ukrainian war» is held from 13 to 16 March 2026.

3. Organization and management of the competition

The management of the organization and conduct of the competition is carried out by the Ministry of Youth and Sports and the Ukrainian Sports Federation “Kozatskyi Biy” (hereinafter – Federation).

Responsibility for the preparation and direct conduct of the competition rests with the Department of Youth and Sports of the Rivne Regional State Administration and the judges’ panel formed by the Federation, the composition of which is approved by the Ministry of Youth and Sports.

4. Participants of the competition

National teams of the Autonomous Republic of Crimea, regions, cities of Kyiv and Sevastopol are admitted to participate in the Ukraine Championship.

Team composition: unlimited.

Age categories of participants:

adults (men or women) – 18 years and older.

Juniors – 15-17 years;

Youths – 12-14 years;

Youths – 10-11 years.

The uniform of the participants must comply with the requirements of the Rules of sports competitions in Kozatskyi Biy (hereinafter − Rules).

Admission level (by classification):

Adults – not lower than 1st rank;

Juniors – not lower than 1st rank;

Youths – not lower than 1st youth rank.

5. Nature of the event

The competition is individual-team, held in accordance with the Rules.

6. Competition program

The Ukraine Championship in Kozatskyi Biy (adults, juniors, youths, children) «In Memory of the Heroes fallen in the Russian-Ukrainian war» is held from 13 to 16 March 2026.

Competition program:

13 March – day of team arrival and participant registration

14:00 – 18:00 – team registration, weigh-in of participants, judges’ registration;

18:00 – 19:00 – meeting of the credentials and medical commission;

19:00 – 20:00 – meeting of the Judges’ Panel, judges’ seminar;

20:00 – 21:00 – official draw of participants.

14 March – competition day:

07:00 – 08:30 – departure of teams from hotels to the venue;

08:30 – 09:00 – setup of competition areas, equipment adjustment and judges’ meeting;

09:00 – nationwide minute of silence for compatriots killed as a result of the armed aggression of the Russian Federation against Ukraine, start of competition;

09:00 – 13:00 – preliminary performances in “dvoboi” divisions;

13:00 – solemn opening of the competition;

13:30 – 16:00 – continuation of preliminary performances, semifinal bouts, and final bouts in all divisions.

16:00 – 21:00 – final bouts in all divisions, awarding of winners;

15 March – competition day:

07:00 – 08:30 – departure of teams from hotels to the venue;

08:30 – 09:00 – setup of competition areas, equipment adjustment and judges’ meeting;

09:00 – nationwide minute of silence for compatriots killed as a result of the armed aggression of the Russian Federation against Ukraine, start of competition;

09:00 – 21:00 – continuation of preliminary performances, semifinal bouts, and final bouts in all divisions

16 March – summing up the results of the competition, departure of teams.

The Kozatskyi Biy competition program includes the following types of competition held in the corresponding age and weight categories, in particular:

Odnotan (free and formal technical complexes);

Tan dvoboi (technical bouts, demonstration of self-defense techniques, self-defense);

Zabava 1 (hand-to-hand with dosed contact limited, analog of semi-contact);

Bornya 1 (hand-to-hand with light contact limited, analog of light-contact);

Bornya 2 (hand-to-hand with light contact main, analog of kick-light with low-kicks and throws);

Bornya 3 (hand-to-hand with light contact free, analog of MMA Light);

Borotba (analog of grappling);

Herts 1 (hand-to-hand with real contact main, full-contact);

Herts 2 (hand-to-hand with real contact main, analog of K-1 with throws);

Herts 3 (hand-to-hand with real contact free, MMA).

7. Safety and preparation of competition venues

The preparation of competition venues is carried out in accordance with the Resolution of the Cabinet of Ministers of Ukraine of 18 December 1998 No. 2025 “On the procedure for preparing sports facilities and other specially designated places for holding mass sports and cultural-entertainment events”.

8. Sports uniform and equipment.

Uniform for Kozatskyi Biy – the sports uniform of participants must comply with the traditional Kozatskyi Biy form:

  • divisions «Zabava», «Bornya 1», «Herts 1» – sharovary, vyshyvanka or club T-shirt (in «Herts 1» division, men have bare torso).
  • divisions «Bornya 2», «Bornya 3», «Herts 2», «Herts 3» – MMA shorts, rashguard or T-shirt (in «Herts 2», «Herts 3» divisions, men have bare torso).

Sports equipment and gear:

  • divisions «Zabava», «Bornya 1», «Herts 1» – mouthguard, groin protector in bandage, hand wraps («Herts 1» mandatory, «Zabava», «Bornya 1» optional), hand gloves (up to 9 years – 8 ounces, older – 10 ounces), foot pads obligatorily with closed heel, shin protection and helmet, for women and girls – chest protection.
  • Divisions «Bornya 2», «Bornya 3», «Herts 2», «Herts 3» – mouthguard, groin protector in bandage, hand wraps optional, hand gloves – open, of the WCFF-licensed trademark «maXmix» – 6 ounces, foot wraps with protection of the upper foot and shin, helmet, for women and girls – chest protection. In «Herts 3» division – helmet optional.
  • Gloves and helmet according to corner color.

9. Conditions for determining the championship and awarding winners and prize-winners

Athletes who took 1st, 2nd, 3rd places in the individual standings of the Ukraine Championship are awarded with medals and diplomas of the Federation of corresponding degrees.

Teams that took 1st, 2nd, 3rd places in the team standings of the Ukraine Championship are awarded with Cups and diplomas of the Federation of corresponding degrees.

Team championship is determined by the sum of points scored in the above types of competitions in the corresponding weight category.

10. Conditions for financing the event and material support of participants

The expenses for organizing and conducting the Ukraine Championship are at the expense of extra-budgetary funds attracted by the Federation.

The expenses for the trip of the participants: travel to and from the venue, daily allowances en route, accommodation, meals, transportation of sports equipment and inventory to and from the venue, and other expenses are at the expense of the sending organizations.

11. Deadlines and procedure for submitting applications for participation in the Ukraine Championship

Preliminary applications for team participation in the Championship of Ukraine are sent no later than 10 days before the start of the competition to the email addresses of the Federation and on the corresponding Federation page on the site https://fitofan.com/o683675825:

To participate in the competition, the following are submitted to the credentials commission on the day of arrival: named applications certified by the seal and signature of the leadership of the structural subdivisions of the Autonomous Republic of Crimea, regions, cities of Kyiv and Sevastopol, and by the doctor of the sports medical dispensary, copy of passport, classification books, insurance policies (valid for the time of the competition), identification code.

Teams and participants that have confirmed their participation within the established deadline are allowed to compete.
