World Championship of Cossack Fight
(adults, juniors, youth)

1. Purpose and Objectives.
The World Championship of Cossack Fight is held with the purpose of:
- popularizing and further developing the sport “Cossack Fight” in Ukraine and the World;
- improving the qualification level of athletes and judges;
- broadly engaging the population in physical culture and sports;
- military-patriotic and sports education of youth;
- summarizing the work in sports organizations;
- achieving sports titles in Cossack Fight according to ESCU.
2. Date, Venue, and Competition Program.
The World Championship of Cossack Fight is held according to the competition rules of the World Cossack Fight Federation (WCFF).
November 28 – arrival day of teams;
November 29– registration day for participants:
14:00 – 18:00 team registration, participant weigh-in, judge registration (Kharkiv, 2 Petra Hryhorenka Ave – Kharkiv Sports Palace);
18:00 – 19:00 – meeting of the mandate and medical commission (Kharkiv, 2 Petra Hryhorenka Ave – Kharkiv Sports Palace);
19:00 – 20:00 – meeting of the Judges’ Board, judges’ seminar (Kharkiv, 2 Petra Hryhorenka Ave – Kharkiv Sports Palace);
20:00 – 21:00 – official draw of participants with team representatives (Kharkiv, 2 Petra Hryhorenka Ave – Kharkiv Sports Palace).
November 30 – competition day:
07:00 – 08:30 – departure of teams from hotels to the competition venue – Kharkiv, 2 Petra Hryhorenka Ave – Kharkiv Sports Palace;
08:30 – 09:00 – setting up venues, equipment setup, and judges’ meeting;
09:00 – start of competitions;
09:00 – 14:00 – preliminary performances in all sections;
14:00 – ceremonial opening of the competitions;
14:30 – 20:00 – continuation of preliminary performances in all sections
December 1 – competition day:
07:00 – 08:30 – departure of teams from hotels to the competition venue – Kharkiv, 2 Petra Hryhorenka Ave – Kharkiv Sports Palace;
08:30 – 09:00 – setting up venues, equipment setup, and judges’ meeting;
09:00 – start of competitions;
09:00 – 17:00 – final fights in all sections, awarding of competition winners.

3. Organization and Management of the Competition.
The World Championship of Cossack Fight is initiated by the World Cossack Fight Federation (hereinafter – WCFF) and the NGO “Ukrainian Sports Federation “Cossack Fight” (hereinafter – USFCF). The direct conduct of the competitions is entrusted to the WCFF and the main judges’ board approved by the WCFF Presidium.
4. Preparation of Sports Facilities.
In accordance with the Resolution of the Cabinet of Ministers of Ukraine No. 2025 dated December 18, 1998 “On the procedure for preparing sports facilities and other specially designated places for holding mass sports and cultural events”:
– preparation of sports facilities is entrusted to their owners;
– control over the preparation of sports facilities and ensuring the safety of competitions is carried out by a working commission formed by the relevant regional administration.
The owner of the sports facility must submit an act to the working commission on the readiness of the facility for the competition at least 4 hours before the start of the competition.
Failure to comply with the requirements provided for in this paragraph, which caused extraordinary circumstances during the competition, entails responsibility.
5. Participants of the Competition.
5.1. Athletes of national teams are allowed to participate in the World Championship of Cossack Fight based on pre-submitted applications by November 21, 2017, to the WCFF (vladibor72@gmail.com).
5.2. Each team with more than 10 athletes must have one judge at the expense of the sending organization.
5.3. All judges must have accident insurance and a medical certificate.
5.4. The competitions are held according to the current international competition rules for Cossack Fight, approved by the WCFF and the Ministry.
5.5. All participants must have: a passport, accident insurance, and MS, MSMK, ZMSU must also have a certificate;
5.6. The competitions are held in the following age groups, weight categories, and sections:
Odnotan (free and formal technical complexes);
Tan-dvobiy (technical duels, demonstration of self-defense techniques, self-defense);
Zabava-1 (hand-to-hand with limited contact, semi-contact analog);
Bornya-1 (hand-to-hand with light contact, light-contact analog);
Bornya-2 (hand-to-hand with light contact, main, kick-light analog with low kicks and throws);
Bornya-3 (hand-to-hand with light contact, free, MMA Light analog);
Gerts-1 (hand-to-hand with real contact, main, full-contact);
Gerts-2 (hand-to-hand with real contact, main, K-1 analog with throws);
Gerts-3 (hand-to-hand with real contact, free, MMA).

6. Financial Conditions of the Competition
The costs of organizing and conducting the competitions are covered by non-budgetary revenues. The costs of participating in the competitions are covered by the parties sending the athletes.

7.Awards.
Athletes who take 1st, 2nd, 3rd places in the individual standings at the World Championship are awarded medals and diplomas of the Federation of the respective degrees.
Teams that take 1st, 2nd, 3rd places in the team standings at the World Championship are awarded cups and diplomas of the Federation of the respective degrees.
The team championship is determined by the sum of points scored in the above-mentioned types of competitions in the respective weight category.
8. Sportswear and Equipment.
Cossack Fight attire – participants’ sportswear must correspond to the traditional Cossack Fight attire:
- sections “Zabava”, “Bornya-1”, “Gerts-1” – sharovary, vyshyvanka, or club t-shirt (section “Gerts-1” for men bare torso).
- sections “Bornya-2”, “Bornya-3”, “Gerts-2”, “Gerts-3” MMA shorts, rashguard or t-shirt (section “Gerts-2”, “Gerts-3” for men bare torso).
Sports gear and equipment:
- sections “Zabava”, “Bornya-1”, “Gerts-1” – mouthguard, groin guard in a bandage, bandages (“Gerts-1” mandatory, “Zabava”, “Bornya-1” optional), gloves (up to 9 years – 8 oz, older – 10 oz), foot protectors with closed heel, shin guards, and helmet, for women and girls chest protection.
- Sections “Bornya-2”, “Bornya-3”, “Gerts-2”, “Gerts-3” – mouthguard, groin guard in a bandage, bandages optional, open gloves for MMA brand “maXmix” 6 oz, stockings with protection of the upper part of the foot and shin, helmet, for women and girls chest protection. In section “Gerts-3” helmet optional.

9. Applications
Preliminary applications for team participation in the competitions are submitted by November 21, 2017 to the email vladibor72@gmail.com
- each team representative must provide the mandate commission with a nominal application for athletes participating in the competitions, in the established form, with all points filled in, certified by the structural subdivisions of the regional departments of physical culture and sports, structures that manage physical culture and sports in the respective countries, federations-representatives of the WCFF in the respective countries.
- the sending organization’s nominal applications must be certified by a doctor of the physical culture and sports dispensary or a medical institution of the respective country.
Passports, classification books of athletes, insurance policy are submitted to the mandate commission on the day of arrival.
