Regulations
for holding the Ukrainian Cup in Kozatskyi Biy among adults and the All-Ukrainian Tournament — Ukrainian Championship in Kozatskyi Biy among students (juniors, youth).
1. Goals and Objectives
The Ukrainian Cup in Kozatskyi Biy among adults and the All-Ukrainian Tournament — Ukrainian Championship in Kozatskyi Biy among students (juniors, youth) is held with the aim of:
- broad engagement of the population in physical culture and sports;
- military-patriotic and sporting education of youth;
- further development of the sport and its popularisation in the country;
- raising the skill level of athletes;
- selection of the strongest athletes for the Ukrainian national team for participation in international competitions (International Tournament – Belarus Open Championship, Republic of Belarus, Minsk, 3-5 April 2020; European Championship 2020, Kharkiv, 24-27 April 2020; and the World Cup 2020, Odesa, 12-15 June 2020);
- intensification of training work in sports organisations;
- summarising the results of work in sports organisations.
2. Dates and Venue
The Ukrainian Cup for Adults and the Ukrainian Championship for Students (juniors, youth) is held on 14-16 March 2020 at the sports complex — Athletics Hall of Sumy State University, at the address: Sumy, 38/1 Prokofieva St.
3. Organisation and Management of the Competitions
Organisation and management of the competitions are carried out by the Ministry of Youth and Sports and the Ukrainian Sports Federation “Kozatskyi Biy”
(hereinafter — the Federation).
Responsibility for the preparation and direct conduct of the Ukrainian Cup for Adults and the Ukrainian Championship for Students rests with the Youth and Sports Department of the Sumy Regional State Administration and the judging panel formed by the Federation, the composition of which is approved by the Ministry of Youth and Sports.
4. Competition Participants
National teams of AR Crimea, regions, and the cities of Kyiv and Sevastopol are admitted to the Ukrainian Cup.
Team composition: unlimited.
Age categories of participants:
adults (men or women) — 19 years and older;
Juniors — 16-18 years;
Youth — 13-15 years;
Youth — 10-12 years;
Youth — 7-9 years.
Qualification level for admission to competitions (by classification):
adults — not lower than 1st rank, juniors — not lower than 1st rank, youth — not lower than 1st junior rank.
5. Nature of the Event
The competitions are individual-team and held according to the Rules.
6. Competition Programme
The Ukrainian Cup in Kozatskyi Biy among adults and the All-Ukrainian Tournament — Ukrainian Championship in Kozatskyi Biy among students (juniors, youth) is held on 14-16 March 2020 at the sports complex — Athletics Hall of Sumy State University, at the address: Sumy, 38/1 Prokofieva St.

Competition programme:
14 March— arrival day of teams and registration of participants:
14:00 — 18:00 team registration, weigh-in of participants, registration of judges;
18:00 — 19:00 — meeting of the credentials and medical commission;
19:00 — 20:00 — meeting of the Judges’ Panel, judges’ seminar;
20:00 — 21:00 — official draw of participants.
15 March – competition day:
07:00 — 08:30 — departure of teams from hotels to the competition venue;
08:30 — 09:00 — setting up sports areas, equipment setup and judges’ briefing;
09:00 — start of competitions;
09:00 — 13:00 — preliminary performances in the “dvoboi” sections;
13:00 — official opening of the competitions;
13:30 — 16:00 — continuation of preliminary performances, semi-final bouts, and final bouts in all sections.
16:00 — 21:00 — final bouts in all sections, awarding of competition winners;
16 March
summing up of competition results, departure of teams.
The Kozatskyi Biy competition programme includes the following types of competitions held in the corresponding age and weight categories, namely:
Odnotan (free and formal technical complexes);
Tan dvoboi (technical bouts, demonstration of self-defence techniques);
Zabava-1 (hand-to-hand combat with dosed contact, limited, analogue of semi-contact);
Bornya-1 (hand-to-hand combat with light contact, limited, analogue of light-contact);
Bornya-2 (hand-to-hand combat with light contact, main, analogue of kick-light with low-kick and throws);
Bornya-3 (hand-to-hand combat with light contact, free, analogue of MMA Light);
Borotba (analogue of grappling);
Herts-1 (hand-to-hand combat with real contact, main, full-contact);
Herts-2 (hand-to-hand combat with real contact, main, analogue of K-1 with throws);
Herts-3 (hand-to-hand combat with real contact, free, MMA).

7. Safety and Preparation of Competition Venues
Preparation of competition venues is carried out in accordance with the Resolution of the Cabinet of Ministers of Ukraine No. 2025 of 18 December 1998 “On the procedure for preparing sports facilities and other specially designated places for mass sports and cultural events”.
8. Sports Uniform and Equipment.
Uniform in Kozatskyi Biy – the sports uniform of participants must correspond to the traditional uniform of Kozatskyi Biy:
- sections “Zabava”, “Bornya-1”, “Herts-1” – sharovary (wide trousers), vyshyvanka or club T-shirt (in the “Herts-1” section, men’s torso is bare).
- sections “Bornya-2”, “Bornya-3”, “Herts-2”, “Herts-3” – MMA shorts, rashguard or T-shirt (in the “Herts-2”, “Herts-3” sections, men’s torso is bare).
Sports equipment and protective gear:
- sections “Zabava”, “Bornya-1”, “Herts-1” – mouthguard, groin protector in a jockstrap, bandages (“Herts-1” mandatory, “Zabava”, “Bornya-1” optional), gloves (up to 9 years – 8 oz, older – 10 oz), foot pads mandatory with closed heel, shin protection and helmet, for women and girls chest protection.
- Sections “Bornya-2”, “Bornya-3”, “Herts-2”, “Herts-3” – mouthguard, groin protector in a jockstrap, bandages optional, open gloves of the “maXmix” brand licensed by WCFF — 6 oz, socks with protection of the upper part of the foot and shin, helmet, for women and girls chest protection. In the “Herts-3” section helmet is optional.
- Gloves and helmet according to corner colour.
9. Conditions for Determining Placings and Awarding Winners and Prize-winners
Athletes who take 1st, 2nd, 3rd places in the individual standings at the Ukrainian Cup are awarded medals and diplomas of the Federation of the corresponding grades.
Teams that take 1st, 2nd, 3rd places in the team standings at the Ukrainian Cup are awarded cups and diplomas of the Federation of the corresponding grades.
Team standings are determined by the sum of points scored in the above-listed types of competitions in the corresponding weight category.
10. Conditions for Financing the Event and Material Provision of Participants
Costs of organising and conducting the Ukrainian Cup are covered by the Federation.
Participation in the competitions is at the expense of the dispatching organisations.
Entry fee, charitable contribution — UAH 400. Additional section — 50%.

For participation in the competitions, the following documents shall be submitted to the credentials commission on the day of arrival: nominal applications certified with the seal and signature of the management of the structural subdivisions of AR Crimea, regions, the cities of Kyiv and Sevastopol, and by a doctor of a sports medical dispensary, a copy of the passport, classification books, insurance policies (valid for the duration of the competitions), and identification code.
Teams and participants who have confirmed their participation within the established deadline are admitted to the competitions.
