Regulations for the Open Championship of the city of Kyiv in Cossack Fight (Kozatskyi Dvoboi) among adults, juniors, youth and children
1. Goals and objectives
The Open Championship of the city of Kyiv in Cossack Fight (Kozatskyi Dvoboi) (hereinafter — the Championship) is held with the following aims:
• broad involvement of the population in physical culture and sports;
• military-patriotic and sports education of youth;
• further development of the sport and its popularization in the country;
• raising the skill level of athletes;
• selection of stronger athletes for the Kyiv city team for participation in all-Ukrainian and international competitions;
• intensification of training work in sports organizations;
• summarizing the work of sports organizations;
• fulfillment of sports titles in Cossack Fight according to the ESCU (first place among adults — CMSU).
2. Dates and venue of the competition
The Open Championship of the city of Kyiv is held on 12–14 February 2021 at the sports complex of the Institute of Physical Education and Sports of the M. P. Drahomanov National Pedagogical University, at the address: Kyiv, Turhenievska St. 3/9.
3. Organization and management of the competition
The organization and conduct of the competition is managed by the Department of Education and Science, Youth and Sports of the Kyiv City State Administration and the Kyiv City Sports Federation “Kozatskyi Dvoboi” (hereinafter — the Federation).
Responsibility for the preparation and direct conduct of the Open Championship of Kyiv rests with the Department of Education and Science, Youth and Sports of the Kyiv City State Administration and with the judging committee formed by the Federation.
4. Participants of the competition
Teams from the AR of Crimea, oblasts and the cities of Kyiv and Sevastopol are eligible to participate in the Open Championship of Kyiv.
Team size: unlimited.
Age categories of participants:
adults (men or women) — 19 years and older.
Juniors — 16–18 years;
Youth — 13–15 years;
Youth — 10–12 years;
Children — 7–9 years.
The participants’ attire must comply with the requirements of the Cossack Fight competition Rules (hereinafter — the Rules).
5. Nature of the event
The competition is individual-team and is held in accordance with the Rules.
6. Competition program
The Open Championship of Kyiv is held on 12–14 February 2021 at the sports complex of the Institute of Physical Education and Sports of the M. P. Drahomanov National Pedagogical University, at the address: Kyiv, Turhenievska St. 3/9.

12 February — team arrival day, participant registration day:
14:00 — 18:00 team registration, weigh-in of participants, judge registration;
18:00 — 19:00 — meeting of the mandate and medical commission;
19:00 — 20:00 — meeting of the Judging Committee, judging seminar;
20:00 — 21:00 — official draw of participants with team representatives.
13 February — competition day:
08:00 — 09:00 — departure of teams from hotels to the competition venue;
09:00 — 09:30 — setting up sports areas, equipment adjustment and judges’ briefing;
10:00 — official opening of the competition;
10:30 — 19:00 — start of the competition, semi-final bouts, final bouts in all divisions, awarding of winners;

The Cossack Fight competition program includes the following events held in the respective age and weight categories, in particular:
Odnotan (free and formal technical forms);
Tan dvoboi (technical bouts, demonstration of self-defense techniques, self-defense);
Zabava-1 (hand-to-hand with controlled contact, limited, semi-contact analog);
Bornya-1 (hand-to-hand with light contact, limited, light-contact analog);
Bornya-2 (hand-to-hand with light contact, standard, kick-light analog with low kicks and throws);
Bornya-3 (hand-to-hand with light contact, free, MMA Light analog);
Herts-1 (hand-to-hand with full contact, standard, full-contact);
Herts-2 (hand-to-hand with full contact, standard, K-1 analog with throws);
Herts-3 (hand-to-hand with full contact, free, MMA).

7. Safety and preparation of competition venues
Preparation of competition venues is carried out in accordance with the Resolution of the Cabinet of Ministers of Ukraine of 18 December 1998 No. 2025 “On the procedure for preparing sports facilities and other specially designated places for holding mass sports and cultural events”.
8. Conditions for determining placements and awarding winners and prizewinners
Athletes who take 1st, 2nd or 3rd places in individual standings at the Open Championship of Kyiv are awarded with medals and diplomas of the Federation of the corresponding degrees.
Teams that take 1st, 2nd or 3rd places in team standings at the championship are awarded cups and diplomas of the Federation of the corresponding degrees.
The team standings are determined by the sum of points scored in the above-listed events in the respective weight category.
9. Sportswear and equipment
Sportswear in Cossack Fight (Kozatskyi Dvoboi) — the participants’ sportswear must comply with the traditional Cossack Fight attire:
• disciplines “Zabava”, “Bornya-1”, “Herts-1” — sharovary (traditional trousers), vyshyvanka (embroidered shirt) or club T-shirt (in discipline “Herts-1” men’s torso is bare).
• disciplines “Bornya-2”, “Bornya-3”, “Herts-2”, “Herts-3” — MMA shorts, rashguard or T-shirt (in disciplines “Herts-2”, “Herts-3” men’s torso is bare).
Sports equipment and protection:
• disciplines “Zabava”, “Bornya-1”, “Herts-1” — mouthguard, groin protector in supporter, hand wraps (“Herts-1” mandatory, “Zabava”, “Bornya-1” optional), gloves (up to 9 years — 8 oz, older — 10 oz), foot pads mandatory with closed heel, shin guards and helmet, for women and girls — chest protector.
• disciplines “Bornya-2”, “Bornya-3”, “Herts-2”, “Herts-3” — mouthguard, groin protector in supporter, hand wraps optional, open MMA gloves of the “maXmix” brand 6 oz (WCFF licensed), foot/shin protectors covering the upper foot and shin, helmet, for women and girls — chest protector. In discipline “Herts-3” helmet is optional.
• Gloves and helmet according to corner color.
10. Conditions of event financing and material support of participants
The costs of organizing and conducting the championship are covered by the Federation.
Participation in the competition is at the expense of the sending organizations.
Starting / charitable fee per participant — 300 UAH.
11. Deadlines and procedure for submitting applications for the Open Championship of Kyiv
Preliminary applications for team participation in the championship are sent no later than 7 days before the start of the competition to the Federation’s email: vladibor72@gmail.com

For participation, the following are submitted to the mandate commission on arrival day: named applications, certified by the seal and signature of the management of the structural units of AR of Crimea, oblasts, cities of Kyiv and Sevastopol, and by a doctor of the sports medicine dispensary; passport copy, classification books, insurance policies (valid during the competition), tax ID number.
Teams and participants who confirmed their participation within the established deadline are admitted to the competition.
These Regulations serve as the official invitation to the competition.
