REGULATIONS
Ukraine Championship in Kozatskyi Dvoboi (adults, juniors, young men, children)
«In Memory of the Heroes Fallen in the Russian-Ukrainian War»
Venue: Lutsk, Ukraine.
15 – 18 March 2024.

1. Goals and objectives
The Ukraine Championship in Kozatskyi Dvoboi (adults, juniors, young men, children) is held with the purpose of:
• broad involvement of the population in physical culture and sports;
• military-patriotic and sports education of youth;
• further development and popularization of the sport in the country;
• raising the skill level of athletes;
• selection of the strongest athletes for the Ukrainian national team for international competitions (European Championship, San Marino; World Championship, Czech Republic; World Cup, Austria);
• intensifying training work in sports organizations;
• summarizing the work of sports organizations.

2. Dates and venue
The Ukraine Championship is held from 15 to 18 March 2024.

3. Organization and leadership
Led by the Ministry of Youth and Sports of Ukraine and the Ukrainian Sports Federation «Kozatskyi Dvoboi» (the Federation).
Responsibility for preparation and direct conduct rests with the Youth and Sports Department of the Volyn Regional State Administration and the refereeing panel formed by the Federation, with composition approved by the Ministry.

4. Participants
Admitted: regional teams of the AR Crimea, regions of Ukraine, cities of Kyiv and Sevastopol.
Team composition: unlimited.
Age groups:
Adults (men/women) – 19 and older;
Juniors – 16–18;
Young men – 13–15;
Young men – 10–12;
Children – 7–9.
Qualification: adults and juniors – not below 1st class; young men – not below 1st youth class.

5. Type of event
Individual and team competition, conducted under the Rules.

6. Competition program
Held from 15 to 18 March 2024.

Program:

15 March – arrival and registration day.
14:00 – 18:00 – team registration, weigh-in, referee registration;
18:00 – 19:00 – credentials and medical commission meeting;
19:00 – 20:00 – refereeing panel meeting, referees’ seminar;
20:00 – 21:00 – official draw.

16 March – competition day:
07:00 – 08:30 – departure of teams from hotels to venue;
08:30 – 09:00 – preparation of sports areas, equipment setup, refereeing briefing;
09:00 – nationwide moment of silence for compatriots killed by the Russian Federation’s aggression against Ukraine, start of competition;
09:00 – 13:00 – preliminary bouts in “dvoboi” sections;
13:00 – official opening ceremony;
13:30 – 16:00 – continuation of preliminary bouts, semifinal and final bouts in all sections.
16:00 – 21:00 – final bouts in all sections, awards ceremony;

17 March – summary of competition.

18 March – departure of teams.

The Kozatskyi Dvoboi program includes:
Odnotan (free and formal technical complexes);
Tan dvoboi (technical bouts, self-defense demonstration);
Zabava 1 (hand-to-hand with measured contact, limited, semi-contact analog);
Bornya 1 (hand-to-hand with light contact, limited, light-contact analog);
Bornya 2 (hand-to-hand with light contact, basic, kick-light analog with low-kicks and throws);
Bornya 3 (hand-to-hand with light contact, free, MMA Light analog);
Wrestling (grappling analog);
Herts 1 (hand-to-hand with full contact, basic);
Herts 2 (hand-to-hand with full contact, K-1 analog with throws);
Herts 3 (hand-to-hand with full contact, free, MMA).

Men:
1. Veterans (41-55): -65, -75, -85, +85
2. Adults (19-40): -50, -55, -60, -65, -70, -75, -80, -85, +85
3. Juniors (16-18): -40, -45, -50, -55, -60, -65, -70, -75, +75
5. Senior youth (13-15): -35, -40, -45, -50, -55, -60, +65
6. Junior youth (10-12): -25, -30, -35, -40, -45, -50, +50
7. Children (7-9): -25, -30, -35, -40, +45

Women:
1. Veterans (41-50): -65, -75, -85, +85
2. Adults (19-40): -45, -50, -55, -60, -65, +65

Weight categories for «Herts 3»
1. Men adults (19-40): -56, -60, -65.8, -70.3, -77.1, -84, -93, +93
2. Women adults (19-40): -50, -55, -61, -68, -76, +76
Odnotan and Tan dvoboi – according to age groups.

7. Safety and preparation of venues
Venues are prepared per Cabinet of Ministers of Ukraine Resolution No. 2025 of 18 December 1998.

8. Sports uniform and equipment
Kozatskyi Dvoboi uniform – participants’ uniform must correspond to traditional Kozatskyi Dvoboi form:
• Sections «Zabava», «Bornya 1», «Herts 1» – sharovary, vyshyvanka or club t-shirt (men bare-chested in «Herts 1»).
• Sections «Bornya 2», «Bornya 3», «Herts 2», «Herts 3» – MMA shorts, rashguard or t-shirt (men bare-chested in «Herts 2», «Herts 3»).

Protective gear:
• «Zabava», «Bornya 1», «Herts 1» – mouthguard, groin protector in bandage, hand wraps (mandatory for «Herts 1», optional for «Zabava», «Bornya 1»), gloves (under 9 yrs – 8 oz, older – 10 oz), foot pads with closed heel mandatory, shin protection and helmet; chest protection for women.
• «Bornya 2», «Bornya 3», «Herts 2», «Herts 3» – mouthguard, groin protector, wraps optional, open MMA-style «maXmix» WCFF-licensed gloves 6 oz, foot wraps with shin protection, helmet; chest protection for women. In «Herts 3» helmet optional.
• Gloves and helmet color according to corner color.

9. Determining placings and awards
Athletes placing 1st, 2nd, 3rd individually receive medals and diplomas of the Federation of corresponding degrees.
Teams placing 1st, 2nd, 3rd receive diplomas.
Team ranking is determined by the sum of points scored in the listed events in the corresponding weight category.

10. Financing and material support
Organization expenses are covered from extra-budgetary funds raised by the Federation.
Travel of participants (transport to venue and back, per diem, accommodation, meals, transportation of sports equipment) is covered by the sending organizations.

For participation, the credentials committee on the day of arrival must be provided: personal applications certified by seal and signature of management of structural divisions of the AR Crimea, regions, cities of Kyiv and Sevastopol, and by a sports medicine doctor; passport copy, classification books, insurance policies (valid for the competition period), tax ID number.
Only teams and participants who confirmed their participation within the deadline are admitted.
