Championship of Ukraine in Kozatskyi Dvoboi (adults, juniors, youths, children)

«In memory of the Heroes who fell in the Russo-Ukrainian war»

Venue: Lutsk, Ukraine.

31 March – 02 April 2023.

1. Goals and objectives

The Championship of Ukraine in Kozatskyi Dvoboi (adults, juniors, youths, children) «In memory of the Heroes who fell in the Russo-Ukrainian war» is held with the goal of:

• broad involvement of the population in physical culture and sports activities;
• military-patriotic and sports upbringing of youth;
• further development of the sport and its popularization in the country;
• raising the level of mastery of athletes;
• selection of stronger athletes for the national team of Ukraine for participation in international competitions;
• intensifying training and coaching work in sports organizations;
• summing up the results of work in sports organizations.

2. Dates and venue of the competitions

The Championship of Ukraine in Kozatskyi Dvoboi (adults, juniors, youths, children) «In memory of the Heroes who fell in the Russo-Ukrainian war» is held from 31 March to 02 April 2023 at the «Dynamo» Sports Complex, at the address: 33 Danyla Halytskoho St., Lutsk

3. Organization and management of the competitions

The management of the organization and conduct of the competitions is carried out by the Ministry of Youth and Sports and the Ukrainian Sports Federation «Kozatskyi Dvoboi»
(hereinafter – the Federation).

Responsibility for the preparation and direct conduct of the Championship of Ukraine among adults and the All-Ukrainian Tournament is entrusted to the Department of Youth and Sports of the Volyn Regional State Administration and to the judging panel formed by the Federation, the composition of which is approved by the Ministry of Youth and Sports.

4. Participants of the competitions

National teams of the AR of Crimea, regions, the cities of Kyiv and Sevastopol are admitted to participate in the Championship of Ukraine.

Team composition: unlimited.

Age categories of competition participants:

adults (men or women) — 19 years and older;

Juniors – 16-18 years;

Youths – 13-15 years;

Youths – 10-12 years;

Children – 7-9 years.

Qualification level for admission to the competitions (by classification):

adults – not lower than 1st rank, juniors – not lower than 1st rank, youths – not lower than 1st junior rank.

5. Nature of the event

Competitions are individual-team, held in accordance with the Rules.

6. Program of the competitions

The Championship of Ukraine in Kozatskyi Dvoboi (adults, juniors, youths, children) «In memory of the Heroes who fell in the Russo-Ukrainian war» is held on 18 − 02 April 2022 at the «Dynamo» Sports Complex sports complex, 33 Danyla Halytskoho St., Lutsk

Program of the competitions:

31 March– day of teams’ arrival and registration of participants at the address: «Dynamo» Sports Complex, 33 Danyla Halytskoho St., Lutsk.

14:00 — 18:00 team registration, weighing of participants, registration of referees;

18:00 — 19:00 — meeting of the credentials and medical commission;

19:00 — 20:00 — meeting of the Judging Panel, referees’ seminar;

20:00 — 21:00 — official draw of participants.

01 April – competition day:

Address: «Dynamo» Sports Complex, 33 Danyla Halytskoho St., Lutsk.

07:00 — 08:30 — departure of teams from hotels to the venue;

08:30 — 09:00 — setting up sports platforms, equipment configuration, and referees’ briefing;

09:00 — start of the competitions;

09:00 — 13:00 — preliminary performances in the «dvoboi» sections;

13:00 — official opening of the competitions;

13:30 — 16:00 — continuation of preliminary performances, semi-final bouts, and final bouts in all sections.

16:00 — 21:00 — final bouts in all sections, awarding of competition winners;

02 April – summing up the competition results, departure of teams.

The program of Kozatskyi Dvoboi competitions includes the following types of competitions held in the corresponding age and weight categories, in particular:

Odnotan (free and formal technical complexes);

Tan dvoboi (technical bouts, demonstration of self-defense techniques, self-defense);

Zabava-1 (hand-to-hand with limited measured contact, analog of semi-contact);

Bornya-1 (hand-to-hand with limited light contact, analog of light-contact);

Bornya-2 (hand-to-hand with main light contact, analog of kick-light with low-kick and throws);

Bornya-3 (hand-to-hand with free light contact, analog of MMA Light);

Wrestling (analog of grappling);

Herts-1 (hand-to-hand with main real contact, full-contact);

Herts-2 (hand-to-hand with main real contact, analog of K-1 with throws);

Herts-3 (hand-to-hand with free real contact, MMA).

Odnotan and Tan dvoboi – according to age groups.

7. Safety and preparation of competition venues

Preparation of competition venues is carried out in accordance with Resolution of the Cabinet of Ministers of Ukraine No. 2025 of 18 December 1998 “On the procedure for preparing sports facilities and other specially designated places for holding mass sports and cultural-entertainment events”.

8. Sports uniform and equipment.

Uniform for Kozatskyi Dvoboi – the athletes’ sports uniform must correspond to the traditional uniform of Kozatskyi Dvoboi:

• sections «Zabava», «Bornya-1», «Herts-1» – sharovary, vyshyvanka, or club T-shirt («Herts-1» for men, bare torso).
• sections «Bornya-2», «Bornya-3», «Herts-2», «Herts-3» MMA shorts, rashguard or T-shirt («Herts-2», «Herts-3» for men, bare torso).

Sports gear and equipment:

• sections «Zabava», «Bornya-1», «Herts-1» – mouth guard, groin shell in a bandage, wraps («Herts-1» mandatory, «Zabava», «Bornya-1» optional), hand gloves (under 9 years – 8 oz, older – 10 oz), feet protectors mandatory with closed heel, shin guards and helmet, for women and girls chest protection.
• Sections «Bornya-2», «Bornya-3», «Herts-2», «Herts-3» – mouth guard, groin shell in a bandage, wraps optional, hand gloves – open, brand «maXmix» licensed by WCFF – 6 oz, stockings with protection of the upper part of the foot and shin, helmet, for women and girls chest protection. In the «Herts-3» section, helmet optional.
• Gloves and helmet according to the corner color.

9. Conditions for determining the championship and awarding winners and prize-winners

Athletes who placed 1st, 2nd, 3rd in the individual standings at the Championship of Ukraine are awarded with medals and diplomas of the Federation of the corresponding degrees.

Teams that placed 1st, 2nd, 3rd in the team standings at the Championship of Ukraine are awarded with cups and diplomas of the Federation of the corresponding degrees.

The team championship is determined by the sum of points scored in the above-listed types of competitions in the corresponding weight category.

10. Conditions of event financing and material support of participants

Expenses for organizing and holding the Championship of Ukraine are covered by the Federation.

Participation in the competitions is at the expense of the sending organizations.

Starting, charitable fee – 400 UAH per section.

11. Deadlines and procedure for submitting applications for participation in the Championship of Ukraine

Preliminary applications for team participation in the Championship of Ukraine are sent no later than 10 days before the start of the competitions to the electronic addresses of the Federation:

For participation in the competitions, the following are submitted to the credentials committee on the day of arrival: nominal applications, certified with seal and signature of the management of structural subdivisions of the AR of Crimea, regions, the cities of Kyiv and Sevastopol, and by a doctor of the medical and physical culture dispensary, copy of passport, classification books, insurance policies (valid during the competitions), identification code. Vaccination certificate, or COVID test.

Teams and participants who confirmed their participation within the prescribed period are admitted to the competitions.
