of the Ukrainian Championship in Kozatskyi Biy (adults, juniors, youth, children)

“In memory of the Heroes fallen in the Russian-Ukrainian war”

Venue: Lutsk, Ukraine.

1. Goals and objectives

The Ukrainian Championship in Kozatskyi Biy (adults, juniors, youth, children) “In memory of the Heroes fallen in the Russian-Ukrainian war” is held with the aim of:

  • broad involvement of the population in physical culture and sports;
  • military-patriotic and sports education of youth;
  • further development of the sport and its popularization in the country;
  • raising the level of skill of athletes;
  • selection of the strongest athletes for the national team of Ukraine to participate in international competitions;
  • activation of training work in sports organizations;
  • summing up the work in sports organizations.

2. Dates and venue of the competitions

The Ukrainian Championship in Kozatskyi Biy (adults, juniors, youth, children) “In memory of the Heroes fallen in the Russian-Ukrainian war” is held from March 14 to 17, 2025 at the Sports Complex “Dynamo” at the address: Lutsk, Danyla Halytskoho Street 33,

3. Organization and management of the competitions

The management of the organization and conduct of the competitions is carried out by the Ministry of Youth and Sports and the Ukrainian Sports Federation “Kozatskyi Biy” (hereinafter – Federation).

The responsibility for the preparation and direct conduct of the competitions is entrusted to the Department of Youth and Sports of the Volyn Regional State Administration and to the refereeing board, formed by the Federation, the composition of which is approved by the Ministry of Youth and Sports.

4. Participants of the competitions

National teams of the AR Crimea, regions, and the cities of Kyiv and Sevastopol are admitted to the Ukrainian Championship.

Team composition: unlimited.

Age categories of participants:

adults (men or women) -19 years and older;

juniors – 16-18 years;

youth – 13-15 years;

youth – 10-12 years;

children – 7-9 years.

Level of admission to the competitions (according to classification):

adults – not lower than 1st grade;

juniors – not lower than 1st grade;

youth – not lower than 1st youth grade.

5. Nature of the event

The competitions are individual-team and are held according to the Rules.

6. Competition program

The Ukrainian Championship in Kozatskyi Biy is held from March 14 to 17, 2025 at the Sports Complex “Dynamo” at the address: Lutsk, Danyla Halytskoho Street 33,

Competition program:

March 14 – team arrival and participant registration day at the address: Sports Complex “Dynamo”, Danyla Halytskoho Street 33, Lutsk.

14:00 – 18:00 – team registration, weigh-in of participants, referee registration;

18:00 – 19:00 – meeting of the mandate and medical commission;

19:00 – 20:00 – meeting of the Refereeing Board, refereeing seminar;

20:00 – 21:00 – official drawing of participants.

March 15 – competition day: address: Sports Complex “Dynamo”, Danyla Halytskoho Street 33, Lutsk.

07:00 – 08:30 – departure of teams from hotels to the competition venue;

08:30 – 09:00 – setup of sports arenas, equipment configuration and referees’ meeting;

09:00 – national minute of silence for compatriots killed as a result of the armed aggression of the Russian Federation against Ukraine, start of competitions;

09:00 – 13:00 – preliminary bouts in “dvoboi” disciplines;

13:00 – official opening of the competitions;

13:30 – 16:00 – continuation of preliminary bouts, semifinal bouts, and final bouts in all disciplines.

16:00 – 21:00 – final bouts in all disciplines, award ceremony.

March 16 – competition day:

07:00 – 08:30 – departure of teams from hotels to the competition venue;

08:30 – 09:00 – setup of sports arenas, equipment configuration and referees’ meeting;

09:00 – national minute of silence for compatriots killed as a result of the armed aggression of the Russian Federation against Ukraine, start of competitions;

09:00 – 21:00 – continuation of preliminary bouts, semifinal bouts, and final bouts in all disciplines

March 17 – summing up of the competitions, departure of teams.

The Kozatskyi Biy competition program includes the following types of competitions held in the appropriate age and weight categories:

Odnotan (free and formal technical complexes);

Tan dvoboi (technical bouts, demonstration of self-defense techniques, self-defense);

Zabava 1 (hand-to-hand combat with dosed contact, limited, analog of semi-contact);

Bornya 1 (hand-to-hand combat with light contact, limited, analog of light-contact);

Bornya 2 (hand-to-hand combat with light contact, main, analog of kick-light with low kicks and throws);

Bornya 3 (hand-to-hand combat with light contact, free, analog of MMA Light);

Borotba (analog of grappling);

Herts 1 (hand-to-hand combat with real contact, main, full-contact);

Herts 2 (hand-to-hand combat with real contact, main, analog of K-1 with throws);

Herts 3 (hand-to-hand combat with real contact, free, MMA).

7. Safety and preparation of competition venues

The preparation of competition venues is carried out in accordance with the Resolution of the Cabinet of Ministers of Ukraine of December 18, 1998 No. 2025.

8. Sports uniform and equipment.

Uniform for Kozatskyi Biy – sports uniform of participants must correspond to the traditional uniform of Kozatskyi Biy:

  • disciplines “Zabava”, “Bornya 1”, “Herts 1” – sharovary (wide trousers), vyshyvanka (embroidered shirt), or club T-shirt (in the “Herts 1” discipline men have bare torso).
  • disciplines “Bornya 2”, “Bornya 3”, “Herts 2”, “Herts 3” MMA shorts, rashguard or T-shirt (in the “Herts 2”, “Herts 3” disciplines men have bare torso).

Sports equipment and protection:

  • disciplines “Zabava”, “Bornya 1”, “Herts 1” – mouthguard, groin protector, hand wraps, gloves (under 9 years – 8 oz, older – 10 oz), foot protectors with closed heel, shin guards and helmet, for women and girls chest protection.
  • Disciplines “Bornya 2”, “Bornya 3”, “Herts 2”, “Herts 3” – mouthguard, groin protector, hand wraps optional, open gloves of the WCFF-licensed “maXmix” brand – 6 oz, stockings with foot and shin protection, helmet, for women and girls chest protection.
  • Gloves and helmet according to corner color.

9. Conditions for determining the championship and awarding winners and prize-winners

Athletes who took 1st, 2nd, 3rd places in individual standings at the Ukrainian Championship are awarded with medals and diplomas of the Federation of the corresponding degrees.

Teams that took 1st, 2nd, 3rd places in team standings at the Ukrainian Championship are awarded with diplomas of the Federation of the corresponding degrees.

10. Funding conditions of the event

Costs for organizing and holding the Ukrainian Championship are covered from non-budget funds attracted by the Federation.

Costs for dispatching participants of the competitions are covered by the dispatching organizations.

11. Deadlines and procedure for submitting applications to participate in the Ukrainian Championship

Preliminary applications for team participation in the Ukrainian Championship are sent no later than 10 days before the start of the competitions to the Federation’s email addresses:
