Regulations for holding the Open Championship of the city of Kyiv in Kozatskyi Biy among adults, juniors, youths and children
1. Goals and objectives
The Open Championship of Kyiv in Kozatskyi Biy (hereinafter − championship) is held with the goal of:
• broad involvement of the population in physical culture and sports;
• military-patriotic and sports education of youth;
• further development of the sport and its popularization in the state;
• raising the level of skill of athletes;
• selection of the strongest athletes for the Kyiv national team for participation in all-Ukrainian and international competitions;
• activation of training work in sports organizations;
• summing up the results of work in sports organizations;
• fulfillment of sports titles in Kozatskyi Biy according to the Unified Sports Classification of Ukraine (first place among adults — KMSU).
2. Dates and venue of the competition
The Open Championship of the city of Kyiv is held 12 − 14 February 2021 in the sports complex of the Institute of Physical Education and Sports of the National Pedagogical Drahomanov University at: Kyiv, Turhenievska St., 3/9.
3. Organization and management of the competition
The management of the organization and conduct of the competition is carried out by the Department of Education and Science, Youth and Sports of the Kyiv City State Administration and the Kyiv City Sports Federation “Kozatskyi Biy”
(hereinafter – Federation).
Responsibility for the preparation and direct conduct of the Open Championship of Kyiv rests with the Department of Education and Science, Youth and Sports of the Kyiv City State Administration and the judges’ panel formed by the Federation.
4. Participants of the competition
National teams of the Autonomous Republic of Crimea, regions, cities of Kyiv and Sevastopol are admitted to participate in the Open Championship of Kyiv.
Team composition: unlimited.
Age categories of participants:
adults (men or women) — 19 years and older.
Juniors – 16-18 years;
Youths – 13-15 years;
Youths – 10-12 years;
Children – 7-9 years.
The uniform of the participants must comply with the requirements of the Rules of sports competitions in Kozatskyi Biy (hereinafter − Rules).
5. Nature of the event
The competition is individual-team, held in accordance with the Rules.
6. Competition program
The Open Championship of Kyiv is held 12 − 14 February 2021 in the sports complex of the Institute of Physical Education and Sports of the National Pedagogical Drahomanov University at: Kyiv, Turhenievska St., 3/9.
Competition program:
12 February – day of team arrival, participant registration day:
14:00 — 18:00 team registration, weigh-in of participants, judges’ registration;
18:00 — 19:00 — meeting of the credentials and medical commission;
19:00 — 20:00 — meeting of the Judges’ Panel, judges’ seminar;
20:00 — 21:00 — official draw of participants with the participation of team representatives.
13 February – competition day:
08:00 – 09:00 — departure of teams from hotels to the venue;
09:00 — 09:30 — setup of competition areas, equipment adjustment and judges’ meeting;
10:00 — solemn opening of the competition,
10:30 — 19:00 — start of competition, semifinal bouts, final bouts in all divisions, awarding of winners;
14 February
summing up the results of the competition, departure of teams.
The Kozatskyi Biy competition program includes the following types of competition held in the corresponding age and weight categories, in particular:
Odnotan (free and formal technical complexes);
Tan dvoboi (technical bouts, demonstration of self-defense techniques, self-defense);
Zabava 1 (hand-to-hand with dosed contact limited, analog of semi-contact);
Bornya 1 (hand-to-hand with light contact limited, analog of light-contact);
Bornya 2 (hand-to-hand with light contact main, analog of kick-light with low-kicks and throws);
Bornya 3 (hand-to-hand with light contact free, analog of MMA Light);
Herts 1 (hand-to-hand with real contact main, full-contact);
Herts 2 (hand-to-hand with real contact main, analog of K-1 with throws);
Herts 3 (hand-to-hand with real contact free, MMA).

7. Safety and preparation of competition venues
The preparation of competition venues is carried out in accordance with the Resolution of the Cabinet of Ministers of Ukraine of 18 December 1998 No. 2025 “On the procedure for preparing sports facilities and other specially designated places for holding mass sports and cultural-entertainment events”.
8. Conditions for determining the championship and awarding winners and prize-winners
Athletes who took 1st, 2nd, 3rd places in the individual standings of the Open Championship of Kyiv are awarded with medals and diplomas of the Federation of corresponding degrees.
Teams that took 1st, 2nd, 3rd places in the team standings of the championship are awarded with cups and diplomas of the Federation of corresponding degrees.
Team championship is determined by the sum of points scored in the above types of competitions in the corresponding weight category.
9. Sports uniform and equipment.
Uniform for Kozatskyi Biy – the sports uniform of participants must comply with the traditional Kozatskyi Biy form:
• divisions «Zabava», «Bornya 1», «Herts 1» — sharovary, vyshyvanka or club T-shirt (in «Herts 1» division, men have bare torso).
• divisions «Bornya 2», «Bornya 3», «Herts 2», «Herts 3» – MMA shorts, rashguard or T-shirt (in «Herts 2», «Herts 3» divisions, men have bare torso).
Sports equipment and gear:
• divisions «Zabava», «Bornya 1», «Herts 1» — mouthguard, groin protector in bandage, hand wraps («Herts 1» mandatory, «Zabava», «Bornya 1» optional), hand gloves (up to 9 years — 8 ounces, older — 10 ounces), foot pads obligatorily with closed heel, shin protection and helmet, for women and girls — chest protection.
• Divisions «Bornya 2», «Bornya 3», «Herts 2», «Herts 3» — mouthguard, groin protector in bandage, hand wraps optional, hand gloves – open, for MMA of the trademark «maXmix» 6 ounces (licensed by WCFF), foot wraps with protection of the upper foot and shin, helmet, for women and girls — chest protection. In «Herts 3» division — helmet optional.
• Gloves and helmet according to corner color.
10. Conditions for financing the event and material support of participants
The expenses for organizing and conducting the championship are at the expense of the Federation.
Participation in the competition is at the expense of the sending organizations.
Starting charitable contribution from a participant – 300 UAH.
11. Deadlines and procedure for submitting applications for participation in the Open Championship of Kyiv
Preliminary applications for team participation in the championship are sent no later than 7 days before the start of the competition to the Federation email: vladibor72@gmail.com

To participate in the competition, the following are submitted to the credentials commission on the day of arrival: named applications certified by the seal and signature of the leadership of the structural subdivisions of the Autonomous Republic of Crimea, regions, cities of Kyiv and Sevastopol, and the doctor of the sports medical dispensary, copy of passport, classification books, insurance policies (valid for the time of the competition), identification code.
Teams and participants that have confirmed their participation within the established deadline are allowed to compete.
This regulation is an official invitation to the competition.
