for holding the Ukrainian Cossack Fight Championship among adults, juniors, youths, and children
1. Goals and Objectives
The Ukrainian Cossack Fight Championship (hereinafter referred to as the Ukrainian Championship) is held with the aim of:
- wide involvement of the population in physical culture and sports;
- military-patriotic and sports education of youth;
- further development of the sport and its popularization in the state;
- increasing the skill level of athletes;
- selection of the strongest athletes for the Ukrainian national team to participate in international competitions;
- activation of educational and training work in sports organizations;
- summarizing the work in sports organizations;
- fulfillment of sports titles in Cossack Fight according to the ESCC.
2. Dates and Venue of the Competition
The Ukrainian Championship is held from October 12 to 15, 2018, at the sports complex of the Institute of Physical Education and Sports of the National Pedagogical University named after M. P. Drahomanov at the address: Kyiv, Turgenevskaya St., 3/9.
3. Organization and Management of the Competition
The organization and management of the competition are carried out by the Ministry of Youth and Sports and the Ukrainian Sports Federation “Cossack Fight” (hereinafter referred to as the Federation).
The responsibility for the preparation and direct conduct of the Ukrainian Championship is assigned to the Department of Education and Science, Youth and Sports of the Kyiv City State Administration and the judging panel formed by the Federation, whose composition is approved by the Ministry of Youth and Sports.
4. Participants of the Competition
The national teams of the Autonomous Republic of Crimea, regions, Kyiv, and Sevastopol are allowed to participate in the Ukrainian Championship.
Team composition: unlimited.
Age categories of participants in the competition:
Adults (men or women) – 19 years and older.
Juniors – 16-18 years;
Youths – 13-15 years;
Youths – 10-12 years;
Children – 7-9 years.
The attire of the competition participants, according to the requirements of the Rules of sports competitions in Cossack Fight (hereinafter referred to as the Rules).
Level of admission to the competition (by classification):
Adults – not lower than 1st category;
Juniors, youths, children – not lower than 2nd category
5. Nature of the Event
The competition is individual-team, conducted according to the Rules.
6. Competition Program
The Ukrainian Championship is held from October 12 to 15, 2018, at the sports complex of the Institute of Physical Education and Sports of the National Pedagogical University named after M. P. Drahomanov at the address: Kyiv, Turgenevskaya St., 3/9.
Competition program:
October 12 – arrival day of teams, registration day of participants:
14:00 – 18:00 team registration, participant weighing, judge registration;
18:00 – 19:00 – meeting of the mandate and medical commission;
19:00 – 20:00 – meeting of the Judging Panel, judges’ seminar;
20:00 – 21:00 – official draw of participants with the participation of team representatives.
October 13– competition day:
07:00 – 08:30 – departure of teams from hotels to the competition venue;
08:30 – 09:00 – arrangement of sports grounds, equipment setup, and judges’ meeting;
09:00 – start of the competition
09:00 – 13:00 – preliminary performances in the “duel” sections;
13:00 – official opening of the competition;
13:30 – 21:00 – continuation of preliminary performances, semi-final duels;
October 14 – competition day:
07:00 – 08:30 – departure of teams from hotels to the competition venue;
08:30 – 09:00 – arrangement of sports grounds, equipment setup, and judges’ meeting;
09:00 – start of the competition, final duels in all sections, awarding of competition winners.

The Cossack Fight competition program includes the following types of competitions, held in respective age and weight categories, including:
Odnotan (free and formal technical complexes);
Tan-duel (technical matches, demonstration of self-defense techniques, self-defense);
Zabava-1 (hand-to-hand combat with limited contact, semi-contact analog);
Bornya-1 (hand-to-hand combat with light contact, light-contact analog);
Bornya-2 (hand-to-hand combat with light contact, main, kick-light analog with low kicks and throws);
Bornya-3 (hand-to-hand combat with light contact, free, MMA Light analog);
Gerts-1 (hand-to-hand combat with real contact, main, full-contact);
Gerts-2 (hand-to-hand combat with real contact, main, K-1 analog with throws);
Gerts-3 (hand-to-hand combat with real contact, free, MMA).

7. Safety and Preparation of Competition Venues
The preparation of competition venues is carried out in accordance with the resolution of the Cabinet of Ministers of Ukraine dated December 18, 1998, No. 2025 “On the procedure for preparing sports facilities and other specially designated places for holding mass sports and cultural events”.
8. Conditions for Determining the Championship and Awarding Winners and Prize-winners
Athletes who take 1st, 2nd, 3rd places in the individual standings at the Ukrainian Championship are awarded medals and diplomas of the Federation of the respective degrees.
Teams that take 1st, 2nd, 3rd places in the team standings at the Ukrainian Championship are awarded cups and diplomas of the Federation of the respective degrees.
The team championship is determined by the sum of points scored in the above-mentioned types of competitions in the respective weight category.
9. Sportswear and Equipment.
Cossack Fight attire – the sportswear of participants must correspond to the traditional attire of Cossack Fight:
- · sections “Zabava”, “Bornya-1”, “Gerts-1” – trousers, embroidered shirt, or club T-shirt (section “Gerts-1” for men with bare torso).
- · sections “Bornya-2”, “Bornya-3”, “Gerts-2”, “Gerts-3” shorts for MMA, rashguard or T-shirt (section “Gerts-2”, “Gerts-3” for men with bare torso).
Sports equipment and gear:
- · sections “Zabava”, “Bornya-1”, “Gerts-1” – mouthguard, groin guard in a bandage, wraps (“Gerts-1” mandatory, “Zabava”, “Bornya-1” optional), gloves (up to 9 years – 8 ounces, older – 10 ounces), foot protectors with closed heel, shin protection, and helmet, for women and girls chest protection.
- · Sections “Bornya-2”, “Bornya-3”, “Gerts-2”, “Gerts-3” – mouthguard, groin guard in a bandage, wraps optional, open gloves for MMA brand “maXmix” 6 ounces (licensed by WCFF), stockings with protection of the upper part of the foot and shin, helmet, for women and girls chest protection. In the “Gerts-3” section, the helmet is optional.
10. Conditions for Financing the Event and Material Support of Participants
The costs of organizing and holding the Ukrainian Championship are covered by the Federation.
Participation in the competition is covered by the sending organizations.
The starting charitable contribution per participant is 300 UAH.
11. Deadlines and Procedure for Submitting Applications for Participation in the Ukrainian Championship
Preliminary applications for team participation in the Ukrainian Championship are sent no later than 7 days before the start of the competition to the Federation’s email address vladibor72@gmail.com, contact phones: +38 097 954 52 09 – Radionov Volodymyr Anatoliyovych; organizational questions +38 067 966 44 61 – Korniyaka Oleksandr Volodymyrovych.
To participate in the competition, the following must be submitted to the mandate commission on the day of arrival: nominal applications certified by the seal and signature of the heads of structural subdivisions of the Autonomous Republic of Crimea, regions, Kyiv, and Sevastopol, and by a doctor of the medical-physical dispensary, a copy of the passport, classification books, insurance policies (valid at the time of the competition), identification code.
Teams and participants who confirmed their participation within the established period are allowed to compete.
