Regulations

for the Open Championship of Kyiv Region in Cossack Fight

The regional championship will be held on September 22, 2018. Venue: Kyiv-Sviatoshynskyi district, S. Sviatopetrivske, Bilhorodska St., 26, SPC “Dobrovolets”.

  1. Goals and Objectives

The Open Championship of Kyiv Region in Cossack Fight (hereinafter referred to as the Regional Championship) is held with the aim of:

-broad involvement of the population in physical culture and sports;

-military-patriotic and sports education of youth;

-further development of the sport and its promotion in the state;

-increasing the skill level of athletes;

-selecting the strongest athletes for the regional team to participate in national competitions;

-activating training work in sports organizations;

-summarizing the work in sports organizations;

2. Dates and Venue of the Competition

The regional championship will be held on September 22, 2018. Venue: Kyiv-Sviatoshynskyi district, S. Sviatopetrivske, Bilhorodska St., 26, SPC “Dobrovolets”.

3. Organization and Management of the Competition

The organization and management of the competition is carried out by the Department of Physical Culture and Sports of the Kyiv Regional State Administration and the Kyiv Regional Sports Federation “Cossack Fight” (hereinafter referred to as the Federation).

Responsibility for the preparation and direct conduct of the regional championship is assigned to the main judging panel, formed by the Federation of Ukraine and the Kyiv Regional Sports Federation “Cossack Fight”.

4. Participants of the Competition

Teams from the cities of the region, Kyiv, youth sports schools, children’s and youth sports schools, and sports clubs are allowed to participate in the Regional Championship, based on preliminary applications submitted by September 17, 2018, to the address: vladibor72@gmail.com

Age categories of competition participants:   

Adults – 19-40 years;

Juniors – 16-18 years;

Youths – 13-15 years;

Youths – 10-12 years;

Children – 7-9 years;

The clothing form of the competition participants, according to the requirements of the Rules of sports competitions in Cossack Fight (hereinafter referred to as the Rules).

5. Nature of the Event

The competition is individual-team, conducted according to the Rules.

6. Competition Program

The regional championship will be held on September 22, 2018. Venue: Kyiv-Sviatoshynskyi district, S. Sviatopetrivske, Bilhorodska St., 26, SPC “Dobrovolets”.

Competition program:

September 22, 2018

8.00-10.00 – re-weighing of athletes according to preliminary applications;

10.00 – ceremonial opening of the competition;

10.30-14.00 – preliminary, semi-final, and final bouts in hand-to-hand sections among youths and juniors;

14.00-18.00 – preliminary, semi-final, and final bouts in hand-to-hand sections among juniors and adults;

18.00- awarding of competition winners.

Weight categories for the “Tan-Dvobiy” (self-defense) and “Odnotan” (technical complexes) sections in Cossack Fight competitions are not applied. Athletes compete according to age groups.

Sections of free fight (hand-to-hand): “Zabava”, “Bornya” and “Gerts” which are held in weight and age categories.

“Zabava” – hand-to-hand with controlled contact (analog of point-fight, semi-contact).

“Bornya” – hand-to-hand with light contact:

• limited “Bornya 1” – analog of light contact;
• main “Bornya 2” – analog of light low-kick with throws and holds;
• free “Bornya 3” – analog of MMA-light.

“Gerts” – hand-to-hand with real contact:

• limited “Gerts 1” – analog of full contact;
• main “Gerts 2” – analog of low-kick with throws and holds;
• free “Gerts 3”, analog of MMA.

7. Safety and Preparation of Competition Venues

The preparation of competition venues is carried out in accordance with the resolution of the Cabinet of Ministers of Ukraine dated December 18, 1998, No. 2025 “On the procedure for preparing sports facilities and other specially designated places for holding mass sports and cultural events”.

8. Conditions for Determining the Winners and Awarding the Winners and Prize-Winners

Athletes who take 1st, 2nd, and 3rd places in the individual standings in the Regional Championship are awarded medals and diplomas of the Federation of the respective degrees.

9.  Sportswear and Equipment.

The clothing form for Cossack Fight – the sportswear of participants must correspond to the traditional form of Cossack Fight:

• · sections “Zabava”, “Bornya-1”, “Gerts-1” – sharovary, vyshyvanka, or club T-shirt (section “Gerts-1” for men bare torso).
• · sections “Bornya-2”, “Bornya-3”, “Gerts-2”, “Gerts-3”    shorts for MMA, rashguard or T-shirt (section “Gerts-2”, “Gerts-3” for men bare torso).

Sports equipment and gear:

• · sections “Zabava”, “Bornya-1”, “Gerts-1” – mouthguard, groin guard in a bandage, wraps (“Gerts-1” mandatory, “Zabava”, “Bornya-1” optional), gloves on hands (up to 9 years – 8 ounces, older – 10 ounces), foot protectors with closed heel, shin protection and helmet, for women and girls chest protection.
• · Sections “Bornya-2”, “Bornya-3”, “Gerts-2”, “Gerts-3”  – mouthguard, groin guard in a bandage, wraps  optional, gloves on hands – open, for MMA brand “maXmix” 6 ounces (licensed by WCFF), stockings with protection of the upper part of the foot and shin, helmet, for women and girls chest protection. In the section “Gerts-3” helmet optional.

10. Conditions for Financing the Event and Material Support for Participants

Expenses for the payment of judges’ meals are covered by the Department of Physical Culture and Sports of KODA, other expenses – by the Federation.

Expenses for the travel of competition participants are covered by the sending organizations.

The starting charitable contribution from a participant is 200 UAH. Additional section 50% (100 UAH)

11. Deadlines and Procedure for Submitting Applications for Participation in the Regional Championship

Preliminary applications for team participation in the Regional Championship are sent to the email address vladibor72@gmail.com, 0979545209 Volodymyr Radionov, 0679664461 Oleksandr Korniyaka.

To participate in the competition, the following must be submitted to the mandate commission on the day of arrival: nominal applications certified by the seal and signature of the leadership of the structural subdivisions of the Autonomous Republic of Crimea, regions, Kyiv and Sevastopol, sports clubs and a doctor of the physical culture and sports dispensary, a copy of the passport, classification books, insurance policies (valid at the time of the competition), identification code.

Teams and participants who confirmed their participation within the established period are allowed to compete.
