World Championship in Cossack Fight

(adults, juniors, youth)

1. Goals and objectives.

The World Championship in Cossack Fight is held for the purpose of:

– promoting and further developing the sport of “Cossack Fight” in Ukraine and worldwide;

– improving the qualification level of athletes and referees.

2. Schedule, venue and competition program.

The World Championship in Cossack Fight is conducted in accordance with the rules of the World Federation of Cossack Fight (WCFF).

December 3arrival day for teams;

December 4– participant registration day:

10:00 – 17:00 team registration, athlete weigh-in, referee registration (Kharkiv, Zhukov Avenue 2 – CP “Kharkiv Palace of Sports”);

17:00­­­ – 19:00 – mandates and medical commission meeting (Kharkiv, Zhukov Avenue 2 – CP “Kharkiv Palace of Sports”);

19:00­­­ – 20:00 – Referees Committee meeting, referee seminar (Kharkiv, Zhukov Avenue 2 – CP “Kharkiv Palace of Sports”);

20:00­­­ – 21:00 – official drawing of participants with team representatives present (Kharkiv, Zhukov Avenue 2 – CP “Kharkiv Palace of Sports”).

December 5competition day:

07:00 – 08:30 – teams depart from hotels to the venue – Kharkiv, Zhukov Avenue 2 – CP “Kharkiv Palace of Sports”;

08:30 – 09:00 – arena setup, equipment installation and referee briefing;

09:00 – start of competitions;

09:00 – 14:00 – preliminary rounds in all divisions;

14:00 – official opening ceremony;

14:30 – 20:00 – continuation of preliminary rounds in all divisions

December 6competition day:

07:00 – 08:30 – teams depart from hotels to the venue – Kharkiv, Zhukov Avenue 2 – CP “Kharkiv Palace of Sports”;

08:30 – 09:00 – arena setup, equipment installation and referee briefing;

09:00 – start of competitions;

09:00 – 17:00 – finals in all divisions, awards ceremony for champions.

3. Organization and management of competitions.

The World Championship in Cossack Fight is initiated by the World Federation of Cossack Fight (hereinafter – WFCF) and the NGO “Ukrainian Sports Federation ‘Cossack Fight’” (hereinafter – USFFCF). Direct conduct of competitions is the responsibility of the WFCF and the main referees committee approved by the WFCF Presidency.

4. Preparation of sports facilities.

In accordance with Resolution of the Cabinet of Ministers of Ukraine No. 2025 of December 18, 1998 “On the procedure for preparing sports facilities and other specially designated places for holding mass sports and cultural events”:

– preparation of sports facilities is the responsibility of their owners;

– monitoring of sports facility preparation and ensuring safety of competitions is performed by a working commission established by the respective regional administration.

The owner of a sports facility must submit a certification of readiness to the working commission no less than 4 hours before the start of competitions.

Failure to comply with the requirements of this section that caused emergency circumstances during competitions entails liability.

5. Competitors.

5.1. The World Championship in Cossack Fight admits athletes from national teams of countries based on applications submitted by November 25, 2016 to the address of WFCF (vladibor_@rambler.ru).

5.2. Each team with a roster exceeding 10 athletes must have one referee at the expense of the sending organization.

5.3. All referees must have accident insurance and a medical certificate.

5.4. Competitions are conducted in accordance with current international rules for Cossack Fight approved by WFCF and the Ministry.

5.5. All competitors must have: passport, accident insurance, and MS, MSMC, ZMSU title holders must also have a certificate;

5.6. Competitions are conducted in the following age groups, weight categories and divisions:

Onotan (freestyle and formal technical complexes);

Tan-fight (technical bouts, demonstration of self-defense techniques, selfdefense);

Zabava-1 (unarmed combat with measured contact limited, analogous to semi-contact);

Bornya-1 (unarmed combat with light contact limited, analogous to light-contact);

Bornya-2 (unarmed combat with light contact standard, analogous to kick-light with low kicks and throws);

Bornya-3 (unarmed combat with light contact open, analogous to MMA Light);

Gerts-1 (unarmed combat with full contact standard, full-contact);

Gerts-2 (unarmed combat with full contact standard, analogous to K-1 with throws);

Gerts-3 (unarmed combat with full contact open, MMA).

6. Financial conditions for competition

Costs for organizing and conducting competitions are covered by extra-budgetary revenues. Costs for competition participation are covered by the sending organizations.

7.Awards.

Athletes who took 1st, 2nd, and 3rd places in the individual standings at the World Championship are awarded medals and diplomas from the Federation of appropriate degrees.

Teams that took 1st, 2nd, and 3rd places in the team standings at the World Championship are awarded trophies and diplomas from the Federation of appropriate degrees.

Team standings are determined by the sum of points scored in the above-mentioned competition types in the respective weight categories.

8. Sports attire and equipment.

Cossack Fight sports attire – athletes’ sportswear must correspond to traditional Cossack Fight attire (baggy pants, embroidered shirt, or club t-shirt). In the Bornya-3 division: MMA shorts, rash guard or t-shirt. In the Gerts-3 division: MMA shorts.

Sports equipment and protective gear – mouthguard, groin guard in support, hand wraps, boxing gloves (10 oz), for Gerts-2, Gerts-3, Bornya-2, Bornya-3 divisions open-finger mixed martial arts gloves (6 oz “maxmix”), foot protection, shin guards and headgear, for women and girls chest protection. In the Gerts-3 division headgear is optional.

9. Applications

Preliminary applications for team participation in competitions should be submitted by November 25, 2016 to the email address vladibor_@rambler.ru

  • each team representative must submit to the mandates commission a named application for participating athletes in the established format, with all items completed,certified by structural divisions of regional departments of physical culture and sports, structures conducting management in the field of physical culture and sports in the respective countries, by federations representing WFCF in the respective countries.
  • named applications from the sending organization must be certified by a doctor of a sports medicine clinic or a medical facility of the respective country.

Passports, classification records of athletes, and accident insurance are submitted to the competitions mandates commission on arrival day.
